& your last effort ?
the prelim final last year
80K you said
& it was 57K
but please by all means continue to make a cock of yourself
your own CEO ... Andy D yesterday I think , said he didn't think they'd get 30K based on ticket sales
I have info that he will be right
but lets wait & see
35K would be a pass mark
anything less then 30K deserves derision & ridicule & thats just what it will get

Wrong as usual Dave I predicted 50k after the forecast of rain ended up with 57k
This is just after the game.
piesman2011 wrote:I was close to the right figure I predicted 50K and the crowd was 57K not to bad a guess.
you said 80K
then I schooled ya ............ & your nutz shrank
thats how it unfolded knob

I talked about possible crowds and you made assumptions. Nothing's really changed you still keep making ill informed assumptions, I never said the preliminary final would get 80k my guess was 50k. Wrong again Dave.

Hi, I'm new here kind of ... And pop on to read more than post. I'm not getting the line of these arguments re crowds . Firstly, RD I am confused as to whether you think a crowd of 20 000 is a good crowd or poor crowd . I know , I know, you are saying that AFL is on the decline in Sydney ... Whether that us true or not is a debate i am happy for you to have with the others here. I don't particularly care... So please don't answer this post with something about that .. Please .
What I want to know is whether you think 20 000 is a good crowd ? Regardless of code. Simple as that .. Could you answer that with a yes or no please. That is all I want to know and hence my post. Please don't confuse the answer by adding ifs and buts etc. yes or no .. Is 20000 a good crowd to a game if footy?

too many variables to be just a yes or no answer champ
20K in Canberra is a great crowd
20K in Brisbane is not
see ?
define your parameters more clearly & I can educate you , as I have done for some time on these pages for so many others
the thing will be if you are prepared to learn
then you will
others in here are more educated for having read my posts but don't ever admit it
the truth being too painful for them

again
because the NRL in sydney is still a game connected to its suburban roots plays games at a number of venues in the burbs ..
its not a blanket yes or no
many grounds are very small & lack adequte facilities , some barely hold 20K
then theres out of town sides that bring few to no fans with them
the time & day games are played
weather conditions
how teams are travelling ...
lots to consider
so one can really only go on recent history & the broader picture
the fact the NRL has not lost more then 20 fans a game on average in the last 8 seasons in difficult economic times ... with strong competition from live PTV & FTA coverage
while other codes in this same period have had their crowds plummet .... just fall off the charts in the case of a certain victorian game
indicates the NRL is doing fine
just fine

Yep, it's still a small suburban comp and nothing more. After all these years it's still not a national competition because the interest just isn't there for the boring pommie game.

its a game thats connected to its heritage
it has defined territories in Sydney still spread from the mountains to the sea.... you follow Manly & live in Sydney .. you most probably Live in the Manly Waringah region
you follow the Sharks
you most probably live in the shire
wow
what tribalism ... you & your past is connected to the area your club STILL comes from
this is your history
this is your territory =D> =D> =D>
unlike the souless victorian game in Melb , whos fans do not associate with the historical territory their club comes from
you live in Collingdon
you probably follow any one of ten teams .... same if you live in Richenwood
you follow Carlenscray
no fucking idea why as you have never lived anywhere near there
but you are a confused singlet wearing F wit who must scream baawwwwwwlllllllll at a pack of bumbling fumbling clowns for 3 hrs a week for some reason
at a generic ground that every club in melb plays at
wow
what a karmichael of a snorefest comp
