Hey parra, rain can impact and if the nrl are going to persist with suburban grounds then yes, these are the crowds you get. Many in the AFL cry out re the loss of the suburban ground and I wonder if this is why the aflw does okay . I know I like that atmosphere when watching on tv. I do find many nrl games I watch at these grounds seem like amature hour. I sometimes don't know if I'm watching the qld cup or the nrl to be honest.

Ummm most games were played at suburban grounds without much cover and it's been raining for 4 bloody days or more now.
But but but
Love how you loons are allowed to use that excuse but AFL fans aren't

Sharks 11,493
Bulldogs 8,712
Souths 16,976
Dragons 7,283
Cowboys 17,548
Titans 13,933
Warriors 13,712
Manly 11,312
Total 100,969
Average 12,621
Weather was crap but that's still very poor. Lowest average for the first round since super league
Who cares there are several rounds where the AFL has torrential rain. Those figures is how it goes down in the history books

Hahaha! Good to see the meatheads supporting their teams/code during the opening round. What an embarrassment. Congratulations on the dismal effort guys...

It's the opening round of the nrlol?

Here in qld there has been seriously next to no coverage about is! Not even the meathead fans on site have been really taking about it

So is it fair to say since 2008 there has only been around 2 or maybe 3 years where the weather hasn't been terrible for the opening round for the nrlol?

yeh agreed, that is the issue with Suburban grounds.. (there uncomfortable and a little bit weather..(forget it)
They can look very park footy almost if a not 70% at least capacity..
Especially Belmore on Friday that looked shocking.. same with Kogarah.
When packed to the rafters the atmosphere is electric with most suburban grounds fitting in the range
of 15-20k MAX (can make it feel like 40k because you are so close to the action)

The town where I live, the papers and site where I work there has been next to no talk or mention of it
Given the latest ratings and crowds, that backs up my statement

The clubs are demanding their grounds be up graded by governments, anz and Sydney fc are about to get up grades. The simple fact the nrlol crowds won't grow their crowds have always been shit compared to the AFL. Given the fact of new technology, streaming devices & games on tv we see softer crowds now days, even in the AFL the traditional power house teams if they aren't going so well their crowds aren't as good now days
