You have to keep in mind that where AFL is played mainly - the really only football code is AFL. Yes there is soccer but even if you followed soccer you follow AFL. So you get a broad cross section in the main. For RL which is largely confined to NSW and Brisbane - and even going back to England and its inception - there has generally been a class divide. The working (bogan class if you will) were RL and the rich people played Rugby Union. From what I gather this divide still pretty much remains although RL canattact a broader audience I feel. So yes, I would see RL as the "working man's game".... whether that means bogan is another thing. Where as if you grow up in Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania etc. then really, your only option has been football (Australian Rules) - RL and RU really have not been an option and soccer was for some foreign kids

How stupid, humans follow football codes, this treating others and putting other above everyone else needs to stop, they've used this shit to keep the so called feeders down for too long. It’s the supporters. Yes there will be people of intellect and wealth watch and enjoy rl but the game was born to cater to the working class and that’s where it appeal largely lies. The whole bring back the biff type thinking. You only need yo look through this site And look at what most rl players like about the game. And it’s often not to do with the skill of throwing ball to a team mate 10 metres away but a lot to two about two blokes running into each other over and over
