I get your point, but who should get the money? Clearly people want to watch sport, therefore companies want to advertise to those people and the more people the more money the advertisers want to pay, the TV stations can charge the advertisers a lot of money to get their product in front of those eyeballs.
Who in the value chain should be getting the money? The Players, the Club, the League, The TV stations, the sponsors?
Maybe the poor in South America or africa or better still kids should play the game in Juniors for free, heard today on SEN from a caller that to play rep soccer at the first rung is 6k a year, even to play ordinary junior soccer is something like $800 a season which is more than twice the fees for AFL. One of the main reasons I cant get into the game.
Are you serious ya dill??? How do ya go from South America or Africa into cheap fumbleball fees in Australia???? You dills are totally brainless. I don't follow soccer but I can tell ya it is played everywhere in the third world in massive numbers. /But apparently you can't get into it because fumbleball fees are less in Australia. Way to go dill!!!!!!!
Did you even read what I was replying too! I stand by my statements a footballer earing multi millions is obscene when juniors have to pay exhorbant registration fees. There is always poor communities who nurture and develop the talent that makes the money, I was suggesting where the money could go rather than obscene amounts to one player. I cant get into the greed of it all obviously thats what you think is the point of things says alot about you really.

Stupid money for a stupid game, and I'm not picking on soccer, not one areshole in the entire world deserves that pay let alone someone playing a game for a living.
This world stinks.
Yeah the money in some overseas sports is over the top. The same happens in Baseball. I am surprised Cricketers have not tried to break into the sport.
Would leave for dead the contracts they have here.
So thick shit no2 if league is so big internationally should they have some players up top in that list?
Bahahahaha
Union does'nt have any players in that list either and it is very international.
One thing we do know is AFL keeps failing again and again at any international level.

AFL is hardly trying at international level!
Thickshit no2
Leagues pathetic international player rules. Play for multiple countries & still Australia & nz dominate
One professional comp, even after being a straight rip off of union a game that is popular world wide & professional comps all over

Yeah a 500 million deal is amateur isn't it, hang on, I seem to remember 2 other sports out here having those numbers 10 years ago and everyone thinking it brilliant. Yet a code getting that money now 10 years later is bad even though where the game is being played, it's a minor big sport, yes it's part of the big 5 English sports but would be at 3 4 or 5. How can it be piggybacking off anything when it's deal is better than all it;s rivals in the same place bar Soccer and Union Internationals on the BBC?
Fmd this guy is pathetic, I even have a fucking sig here still 3 years after I had the same argument with the liar. Yet being proved wrong, he continues it for years.
I've just about had a fucking gut full of that ***** and his BS, he refuses to even try and debate or even be a part of this community. He needs a perma ban.
Don't worry though, he'll be able to be picked out easily enough once removed and slied its way back in, simply because he's too ****** to change his ways or the way he posts. Within a day he'd bust himself being a **** with all the crap, just fuck him off and continue fucking him off, I'd love to punch him fair in the fucking mouth, you're a fucking spazo drunken fool.

Sorry to say your mate is either telling you porkies, or something else, because grassroots football ie what most the kids play in NSW fees are not that high. Hell my fees aren't even that high and adults fees are the highest, mine are only $350.
My kids are $100 and $130.
So $800 i'm calling bullshit, by the way Academies etc of course fees are huge, they are paying for highly (or should be if parents are smart) coaches working with 3 -4 kids, no different to sending your kids to a Tutor.
As for SAP teams etc again you are paying for being part of a semi-professional club (like Marconi, Sydney Utd etc) so you little Johhny is paying ofr the 1st team, but at the same time you also have significantly better infrastructure around you, better coaches etc.
You get what you pay for.

Yeah whatever:
Football/soccer is the most costly code
Registration fees for rugby league start from just $100
Meanwhile, soccer fees can be as high as $300.
Rugby union, which was the second most expensive code at an average of $214, has a similar set up to soccer with fees being handed up toward national and state associations.
Meanwhile, Australian rules football had a mean cost of $203 for junior players

Lol league has he lowest fees out of the codes as well as the fewest players!
Is registration fees league so much lower than the other codes so the tin foil hat loons and the meat heads that play such a boring game can afford the costs out of their disability pension?
On another serious note, with soccer being the least physical out of the codes you'd think insurance costs would be cheaper, meaning cheaper registration costs

You say
Rugby league starts at $100. AFL mean is $203.
For Football you say CAN BE AS HIGH AS $300.
Like I said either you are stupid and cant work out how to compare or you are fucking dishonest.
Your choice

Lol the DT .
Instead of giving a fair comparison across the board .
It's Rl starts at .
& AFL has a mean.
Lol
Now I wonder why they didn't have the AFL Starting rego cost .
They cater to the not so bright ...such as Dingbat .
When you work out what a MEAN is ...get back to me .
Here's a hint .
It's not the lowest number .

Theyre comparing the start up price to the mean of AFL .
Get someone with an IQ above that of a turnip to explain it for you
