Re: Soccer destroys the other codes in the pay stakes
Oscar has signed a transfer deal from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG for 52 million uk Pounds and earn $490,000 per week ($25 million per year), this is on top of Tevez signing for over $40 million per year, for Shenhua.
Yet wasn't beaussie trying to claim that football wasn't big in China? they have now got two of the highest paid footballers in the world.

Stupid money for a stupid game, and I'm not picking on soccer, not one areshole in the entire world deserves that pay let alone someone playing a game for a living.

Re: Soccer destroys the other codes in the pay stakes
I get your point, but who should get the money? Clearly people want to watch sport, therefore companies want to advertise to those people and the more people the more money the advertisers want to pay, the TV stations can charge the advertisers a lot of money to get their product in front of those eyeballs.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Stupid money for a stupid game, and I'm not picking on soccer, not one areshole in the entire world deserves that pay let alone someone playing a game for a living.

Who in the value chain should be getting the money? The Players, the Club, the League, The TV stations, the sponsors?

Yeah the money in some overseas sports is over the top. The same happens in Baseball. I am surprised Cricketers have not tried to break into the sport.ParraEelsNRL wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2017 9:31 amStupid money for a stupid game, and I'm not picking on soccer, not one areshole in the entire world deserves that pay let alone someone playing a game for a living.

Re: Soccer destroys the other codes in the pay stakes
Maybe the poor in South America or africa or better still kids should play the game in Juniors for free, heard today on SEN from a caller that to play rep soccer at the first rung is 6k a year, even to play ordinary junior soccer is something like $800 a season which is more than twice the fees for AFL. One of the main reasons I cant get into the game.post_hoc wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2017 11:16 amI get your point, but who should get the money? Re: Soccer destroys the other codes in the pay stakes
Are you serious ya dill??? How do ya go from South America or Africa into cheap fumbleball fees in Australia???? You dills are totally brainless. I don't follow soccer but I can tell ya it is played everywhere in the third world in massive numbers. /But apparently you can't get into it because fumbleball fees are less in Australia. Way to go dill!!!!!!!Swans4ever wrote: Thu Feb 02, 2017 9:25 pmMaybe the poor in South America or africa or better still kids should play the game in Juniors for free, heard today on SEN from a caller that to play rep soccer at the first rung is 6k a year, even to play ordinary junior soccer is something like $800 a season which is more than twice the fees for AFL.
