Ive lost count the amount of times i have read an AF fan post something along the lines "NRL is only popular in NSW and QLD" even though the NRL competition has teams in VIC, ACT and NZ and Rugby League is played in every state and territory of Australia and has good participation numbers!

Well that's because NRL is only popular in NSW and QLD.

Very poor spin to say that rl in Victoria is popular because it has a team based there, or mentioning the ACT as being important when it's ex NSW or even bringing NZ into the equation when it''s outside of Australia and not reeally popular compared to RU.

If you think rl is popular because of participation figures in Melbourne then Australian Football must be extremely popular in the ACT, NT, NZ, NSW, Qld, RSA and PNG.
