So the AFL don't take the time to do their own tests? Integrity = 0. You have no integrity so you don't understand what it is and don't want to.

Integrity units are a waste of time.
the AFLs testing is performed by ASADA. By saying this lacks integrity you are accusing ASADA of lacking integrity. That's a shame given they cover ilicit drug testing for a lot of sports.

But you won't be saying that when the NRL are shown to be entrapped by illegal betting and the AFL have managed to avoid it!
they haven't avoided it
again
3 examples in the last few years ..... maybe not orchestrated by organised crime
but pretty much the same thing

NRL
" exotic " bets placed on targeted players being blackmailed by crims for financial gain
these players are told supplements they are taking ( that they believed to be OK ) are in fact PED's & they will be exposed if they don't co operate

AFL
" exotic " bets placed by players themselves or people acting on their behalf

both are serious breaches of trust & strike at the heart of both sports integrity
the VFL integrity unit .... couldn't stop this from occuring
& an NRL integrity unit could not stop the problem in its sport either

integrity units
a complete & utter waste of time

While our top sporting codes go into damage control over explosive claims organised crime syndicates are using illegal drugs to lure athletes into match-fixing, The Daily Telegraph has obtained a copy of a confidential proposal put to former NRL boss David Gallop in February 2011.

The document was put together by the former head of the TAB Warren Wilson and Peter Kadar, who was the TAB's former chief executive of wagering.

They met with Gallop in early 2011 with a plan that clearly warned of the threat betting had on the reputation and integrity of rugby league - and how the game was being denied potential earnings of more than $100 million.

"If they did what we told them to do they would have no bloody problems today," a clearly angry Wilson said.
any integrity unit formed from now onward won't be the toothless papertiger version the VFL has
it will be an arm of a sporting body armed with powers to do what it is supposed to do
attempt to protect the sports integrity
instead of making paper areoplanes all day .. like the VFL's one did

No AFL club or player has been found involved in max fixing......the NRL on the other hand are heading for a world of pain.

Id suggest we benefited from an integrity unit and the NRL are catching up but its too late

The reason these players were caught and fined was due to the integrity unit! How do they catch players before they bet? Occupy the local TAB?

The idea is to find the few and punish them to set an example. Next you claim theres no use having a MRP because players still commit indescretions

There you go again! You're concentrating on match fixing and betting, when the issue is DRUGS! Where's the integrity on that huh?

Integrity = Zero!

AT LEAST seven AFL clubs were named in a confidential briefing to competition chiefs by the Australian Crime Commission as being vulnerable to illicit drugs.

Sure, but the major focus of the report is PEDs and illegal betting

Do you actually know what major focus means? All the media talk has been on PEDs. That was the surprise. Both codes already know they have players using illicit drugs. The AFL have already said the ACC report didnt provide any new info in illicit drugs

Which means that the AFL are complicit in illicit drug use! The media has been focused on PED's, but not the ACC!!
