Well atleast our code is onto it when it appears. Personally anyone can make comments about the game and there has been a few lame games but there's been amazing ones too. Itsa still early days in the season. I think most of the folk you refer to are simply old coots having a whinge.

A few games now? Last it was half of one game.

According to a number of sources it's this entire season overall. [-X

THere's always a few lame games every season. I've seen numerous fantastic RL this season so they're def wrong with season overall as you foolishly pick up Xman. Ah and xman lets not forget you've stated you know nothing about RL, nothing at all so really your comments on it lack credibility.

And ah how many lame blowouts have occurred in the AFL this season thus far? Averaging about 4 a week

I'm going on articles and comments made by RL fans KE. They're voicing their concerns over the state of the game! It's on the nose and ratings and crowds are suffering! #-o #-o

Meanwhile the AFL are coming out of an era dominated by defensive game styles, and ratings and crowds are at record levels.

The comparison is stark my friend, stark indeed. :)

Interesting article. Teams will always try on tactics and although i didnt see this game i can see how that would make the game boring. fairly shameful tactic but within the rules. The AFL has long had similar strategies with similar results such as flooding. So really nothing to see here apart from an ex nrl players positive contribution to potential changes for the better. :)
The solution to Flooding has been developed by teams in the AFL. This year we are seeing a much more attacking style of football because teams realize if they move the ball quickly they can beat the zone before it forms. This will result in more exciting matches, better ratings and better crowds.

Seems like the NRL are still in the grip of boring defensive play.

All season footy fans have become increasingly frustrated at some of the negative tactics being employed by all teams - and Fulton on Tuesday night declared it was time referees got tough for the good of the game

The majority of other teams have copied the Storm’s tactics, which overall has made the game slower and more defensive.

And the article is to address the problem and will be fixed no doubt by Harrigan.

Xman how do we fix the Lobsided AFL comp? How do we fix tanking in the AFL? How do we fix and get the Basketcase league to rejoin the rest of the AFL? How do you fix any of these problems if you dont acknowledge they exist? any thoughts on a quick Fix.... Goodluck

Hmm, change subject much?

NRL fans have complained about this season and are concerned if things aren't addressed it won't change. A season of boring games, dropping attendance and ratings.....

Before long, every other club in the competition was hiring wrestling consultants. And defence, as we knew it, changed.

But the reality is this: playing entertaining footy doesn't enter into your thinking on the field. And no one is pondering whether fans will like the way a certain mode of play.

In fact, if you played the most boring brand of footy in the world and still got the two points, pretty much every player in the comp would consider that a good outcome.

I can understand from a spectators' perspective why the by-product of wrestling - the slowing down of the ruck - is unpopular. I read this week the trends in which tries, off-loads and line breaks have decreased by as much as 39 per cent over the last decade

Hmmm, troubling time for RL.

And RL fans, commentators and former players alike agree on one thing.... RL is "boring"

TV ratings and crowds down as a result. Not a good look when you're telling tv networks your product should be valued at $1 Billion. #-o
