Plus they'd be annoyed that Optus get to show it for free. Why wouldn't they take it to court. Optus should pay the AFL too then.

Both codes stand to lose.the only question is have telstra already paid the AFL? If so the NRL are the only loser.

Hmm isn't that up to telstra? NSWAFL is right. If the contract didn't specify exclusivity then telstra will still honor the contract.
Either way the AFL have a contract which may be honored. The NRL will miss out no matter what. 700k here we come.

How are they paying for nothing when they have the rights to show AFL on the internet?
Either way it's icing on the cake of a massive TV rights deal. Even taking it away will mean little, and thats pure speculation given it's possible the decision will be overturned or telstra will still honor the contract.
The NRL are the ones who will be panicking! 700M here we come

All that's happened, Dave, is that Telstra has lost the rights to be the sole provider! They are still the primary provider, doofus! All that's happened is that Optus got legal permission to re-transmit the data even though they don't have a contract with the AFL.

no one has to pay anything to show sport on the internet , including Telstra .. there is NO exclusivity
which was what Telstra paid for
give it back AFL
