Hunt "a rare athlete" in the AFL comp

Hunt "the most feared player within the suns"
There's hundreds of athletes above and beyond hunt in the nrl and he'd be one of the softest hitters in the game!. I guess that answers the question of which code has the most superior athletes nice and definitively now eh Xman? Seeing you believe everything you read about ol hunty boy now?
And comparing hunt with james hird is perhaps the most disgraceful comparison the superstar, hird, will ever receive.

Read it up though xman, read it up and post it as fact!

You seem to read articles with 1/2 your very limited brain capacity!
He's a rare athlete because he is driven to succeed at whatever sport or challenge he is faced with. No one has said he is a rare AFL talent.
He's been compared to James Hird when describing his drive to improve and succeed, nothin else.
He has used his physicality as a strength in his game to intimidate his opposition. The fact he is leading his club in this area is great but hardly an achievement of a 'most superior athlete' given most of his team mates are kids.
You seriously know NOTHING about ARs!

Good Xman, finally you're learning to comprehend and are describing khunt more accurate manner. I am now content you're attitude to khunt is correct i.e. you

your eyes at his achievement.
And I totally agree, what he does is
Xman wrote:hardly an achievement of a 'most superior athlete' given most of his team mates are kids
Now can we talk about the outrageousness of the money he's being given as a man who is "hardly an achievement"?
Zzzzzziiing! :P

Yet he thoroughly deserves his modest playing contract because he is clearly a valuable player in that team. And he deserves his large marketing contract because of tireless work for the AFL!
Bazinga!

Tireless work for the AFL!

*cough bullshiit.
So in the end its clear im correct. Khunt doesnt deserve the dosh he receives and is a player worthy of an Xman

. His achievement is "hardly that of a superior athlete" < Xmans words and eye rolls, not mine...but i concur.

No, you are totally and completely incorrect! He deserves his spot on the team due to his performances in that team so far this year, of which he is paid appropriately. The vast majority of his contract is for marketing, which he has also performed exceedingly well and thoroughly deserves.
Has his large contract destablised the league or other AFL players? No. Why, because they know he deserves to be paid for the job he is doing.

Shuddup eye roller! You think he's hardly a superior athlete, yet he's in the superior comp. And you're right, his large contract has not destabilised the league. Only an idiot would think that, but it certainly contributes to it. We only need to look at the state of the lopsided comp to see the AFL has not spent their money wisely.

The lopsided nature of the league has little if anything to do with AFL spending dimwit!

I'm sorry but I wont rehearse over and over whats already been said to a simpleton like you xman. Countless AFL journeymen have commented that the expansion has been poorly thought out and planned, including the spending. I'm not going to go back and requote in here if you cant read too good, which you cant. Jeez you are a silly fella most the time xman. Pick up your game mate! tsk tsk tsk

So KE, you finally willing to admit you got this one completely wrong.

KARMICHAEL Hunt has every right to say, "I told you so". Critics from every side of the football divide bagged the former NRL star's switch to the AFL when he made the shock decision in 2009.
They said he had the wrong body shape. Had no idea about the nuances of the game. Would be a liability wherever the coach tried to hide him.
Fast forward to this season and the Gold Coast Sun is one of the form midfielders of the AFL. But Hunt isn't gloating, he's just getting on with the job, which this week means taking on fellow code hopper Israel Folau's GWS Giants. "I'm not sitting here smiling because I've shut a few people up," Hunt told The Daily Telegraph last night.
"I've been knee deep in the process and haven't really thought about what people think," he said.
"I was always going to cop criticism - everyone is entitled to their opinion."
Hunt's performances in the midfield for the Suns have made plenty of experts sit up and take notice.
The key to his improvement has been a vastly improved aerobic capacity, which has allowed him to run in the midfield in the absence of regulars Gary Ablett and Michael Rischitelli.
Hunt has a huge responsibility to help lead the Suns engine room against the Giants, who have identified Saturday's match at Manuka Oval as their best shot at a breakthrough win.
For the first time this season the Giants are at single-figure odds with TAB Sportsbet listing them at $3.05 for the win.
Hunt's improvement has been so dramatic Giants coach Kevin Sheedy has threatened to tag him in Saturday's match.
"It's never happened so there's a first time for everything," Hunt said. "I'm sure I'll get some instructions in how to deal with a tagger from my coaches. It's a compliment in a way."
Sheedy isn't the only Sydney coach paying attention to Hunt's work.
Sydney Swans coach John Longmire doesn't face the Suns until round 18 at Metricon Stadium but has taken note of Hunt's progress.
"He's playing really well," Longmire told The Daily Telegraph. "Since the Gold Coast have had some injuries he's had a more prominent role in the midfield and he's picking up the game really well," Longmire said.
The word on the AFL grapevine is it's not Hunt's pure sporting talent which is making the difference but his attitude: "From what we hear around the place he works really hard at his game and that's half the battle," Longmire said. "We've also heard he's very professional and that's coming through."
Adding to Hunt's achievements is the position he's playing. Most code crossers start in attack or defence but Hunt is battling it out in the trenches of the midfield.
"There's no harder position than being an AFL midfielder, especially coming from another sport and trying to pick the game up - that's as difficult a position as you can play," Longmire said.
"It's about knowing where the angles are and where the traffic is and how to get in and out of trouble. It's also about when to make the tackles and general awareness. He's been able to pick that up really quickly."

This thread is about the outrageous sums of money the Khunt has gotten for the next three years. I'm not wrong in stating this is ridiculous. Fair enough they pay him extra for one year but it is simply dumb to be paying him 3 million over three years for his, as Xman puts it, 'tireless promotion'

I'm sorry but being the Khunt experiment is not what most consider 'tireless promotion'.
In the other area discussed, Khunts ability, I am thinking he may be on the improve. Good for him I say and this really cements my earlier points in other threads that RL players are superior athletes to marngrookers. As I've said we've never seen an AFL Footballer convert to play in the NRL, and it'll never happen.

You're wrong on two counts. You said he wasn't going to be a decent ARs footballer, and he is. You also claimed his contract extension was a poor decision and you are wrong again, especially now he is improving so much. He's getting more attention now than every and will no doubt be a great role model for other Kids who are playing RL and have considered giving ARs a go.
