Re: Sydney vs Brisbane AFL Grand Final
I got 9 players from nsw on the swans list that have played at least 1 senior game. Also noted a few of those from Sydney and surrounds - and a few top gun players as well. I will look to see if I can find brisbanes players from qld. I know hipwood is from Sunshine Coast (Caloundra panthers)
I’ll leave it to azif to do the genealogy of each player lol.

Re: Sydney vs Brisbane AFL Grand Final
I’m thinking about 6 players from qld playing - not including Ashcroft who played at my son”s club - a year younger - as he came from Victoria - his little brother is even better I hear.
And if you look across the AFL as a whole there are plenty of players from qld and nsw on AFL playing lists -showing Aussie rules is doing okay on these states - I think the academies have helped a great deal on creating pathways for younger players - particularly at the suns where there are now calls to change the rules re: drafting academy talent. Suns last year took 3 top academy picks and a 4th they initially didn’t take when they could from their academy who has turned out to be a gun.

doubt it will be that highleeroy*NRL* wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 3:03 pmAFL will be pleased with 500k Plus Audience each out of each city (brisbane and Sydney)
414K In Brisvegas for last years GF & a lot of them watching the Melbourne team
Brisbane traditionally gets 250K plus regardless
In Swineland their 2022 GF rated just 375K in the nations largest city , the lowest number to ever watch them in a GF
Sydney also rates around that 250K mark , which is weird for a city twice the size of Brisbane , but what it shows is there are a lot more sthn **** in Brisbane then there are in Sydney

Re: Sydney vs Brisbane AFL Grand Final
In their team last start I make it 3 from sydney and 1 from Newcastle Fred. And one of the Sydney blokes is the son of a former Swans asst coach. You're not the official crowd and membership counter for the Ginats are ya Fred. You seem to be seeing double lolololol!!!!!!!!Fred wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 2:42 pmI got 9 players from nsw on the swans list that have played at least 1 senior game. So if they’re grand parents came from Victoria - or great grand parents - what does that matter ??? No one questions south sea islanders playing rl.
So if your great grandfather was born in South Australia it doesn’t count as you being from qld or nsw?

To be fair - I did say the list / but also didn’t count players yet to make a senior debut.

Re: Sydney vs Brisbane AFL Grand Final
it means no new people have been attracted to the fumbles & bumbles just new generations from the same stock whos parents or grand parents moved to QLDFred wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 4:56 pmazif wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 3:15 pmFred wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 2:53 pmI’m thinking about 6 players from qld playing - not including Ashcroft who played at my son”s club - a year younger - as he came from Victoria - his little brother is even better I hear.

I think with no vicdumoh teams , it will affect ratings ..everywhere ...negatively
