Re: nrl all stars match may be scrapped due to poor crowds
Is a shit place to host it. Should be at Redfern where alot of Indigenous NRL fans actually are. How many Aboriginals are on the Gold Coast. Did not see many when I was there. Poor ticket sales does not surprise me one bit for choice of venue.
Goldcoast Titans won't fold posthoc sydneyfc (same person) That is your pipe dream.
Only Bendigo Gold turned into Bendigo fold

Stuff the wonderers, where has soccer ever been in regards to Parramatta stadium, it wasn't them filling and breaking crowd records since 1986, they have jumped in recently, and the parramatta power do not count either as they couldn't sell it out for their last game which happened to be the grand final iirc.
Bugger this lot that want to change the name of stands for people who never played at the bloody stadium and cover statues of past greats that actually played for the local team at that stadium and went on to be greats of the game.

Re: nrl all stars match may be scrapped due to poor crowds
The last time the eels filled the stadium was 2012, like it or not the only reason any upgrades are going in at the moment are for the Wanderers.
One of the reasons is that the ground doesn't meet international standards. As the eels don't play internationals they haven't forced the upgrades we have

He's not saying that the new roofing and stands will be for WSW games only wook. Obv every tenant will get to use the new facilitiesThe_Wookie wrote:Like it or not, thats bullshit. Upgrades will be for both sides, not least the one that has called it home since 1986.post_hoc wrote:The last time the eels filled the stadium was 2012, like it or not the only reason any upgrades are going in at the moment are for the Wanderers.
However, the NSW gov't had no intention of even giving a cent towards Parramatta Stadium until half way through WSW's first season. The stadium was barely getting used throughout the year with the eels moving some of their games to ANZ and no summer code bothering with it besides the odd SFC game here and there + a concert now and then.
Now they have the Wanderers who play out of there at least 14 times a year (nearly 20 times last season), and that NRC Rugby Side.
The Wanderers attracted this investment back to the stadium.

Can Redfern hold a big crowd now? I'm not so sure it could. Nice sentiment, but I think we have to be more practical.AFLsforPussies wrote:Is a shit place to host it. Redfern holds 20,000, so would easily be big enough. And the atmosphere would kill any other venue in Australia.Foolproof wrote:Can Redfern hold a big crowd now? I'm not so sure it could. Really is that all, I thought it got upgraded. That would be too small then. I just don't like that Gold Coast Venue.
