Worry, a single decent crowd between 2 large NRL teams in Sydney on a public holiday. If the NRL was actually popular this would happen every few weeks. As it is this was apparently the larger home and away NRL crowd since 1966 or something.

No, laughing hysterically at the reactions of NRL fans on LU who have suddenly realised the benefits of a decent crowd

Shame they only get a handful every year while it happens at least a couple of times a round in our game.

Next week theyll be back to "crowds aren't everything..

It's funny how the nRL need a shit load of promotion and a public holiday to get a crowd like this. If it were an ordinary Saturday night, throw a shower or two in there and see 15,000 disappear just like that.

Exactly what I was thinking. It shows how pathetic Sydney sports fans are. Good Friday has nothing else on so they suddenly decide to go to watch the NRL. Yet the moment there's rain, wind, sun, or anything else, the crowds plummet.

We won't be upset. 80k crowd already for the AFL. Possibly another 2 to come this round. I think we'll be ok

Maybe the NRL could organise a public holiday every weekend

Yeah, your 3 biggest clubs all on a public holiday and got semi decent crowds (the Storm aren't classified as a big club). Next week we'll be back to reality with no more 40k plus crowds.

You'll be ok? I'm a little befuddled here Xman. You're ok with being wrong about nrl crowds increasing?

Biggest crowd since 1966 i think you quoted! Wow. And you're ok with them apples? I guess if you're ok with yourself being wrong about nrl crowds increasing while you're the one quoting its the biggest nrl crowd since 1966 then...i guess...you're ok

Yes Xman, I described you correctly when i nominated you the slightly confused buffoon many moons ago

The article Beaussie posted described the NRL crowds dropping :-k

I showed evidence that this years first three NRL rounds had the lowest crowd average since 2004, despite barely any games being affected by inclement weather. This isnt a lie and and it remains fact [-X

Yes they had a few good crowds yesterday. =D> very nice. Sydney, a city of 4.5m people, do actually have a few sports fans who, when conditions are perfect and the day is ideal, are up for an outing and will attend RL.

Then comes a normal weekend and it all stops. Then comes the rain and it all stops. Then comes some poorer matchups and it all stops.

This is the difference
