Good ol Hoppa hahaha hilarious stuff if you ask me...as long as it didnt happen to you. Its now folklore and if anything has given the folk of RL something to laugh and bond about. Yes we can laugh about the players of our sport and acknowledge they aint all perfect. AFL folk on the other hand seem to be the type who walk around as though a carrot is stuck up their ass. All prissy and proper and acting like their sportsmen are gods gift to the earth. Drac and Xman are just these types for example.
nRL fans bond about a man fingering other men? Do they also bond about gang rapes (canterbury 2004) taking shits in hotels and fucking dogs?
No we just laugh about hoppa. "Yes, yes it is" Great vid stewie!

The biting incident was not at AFL level and was not done by a player who played for an AFL team. KE you could go play some AR and bite someones nuts (from the sounds of your amusement of men sticking fingers up other guys arses it might be something you would approve of) and it would be in a similar league. I know if someone stuck there fingers up my arse while I was playing sport I would be going to the police. I would probabaly do the same with the testicle biting as well the difference is that one was an NRL player and the other player had nothing to do with the AFL.

That's funny pies because the SMH article calls the testicle biting bastard a "former sydney swans player"?? :?

A perforated scrotum was the damage the bastard inflicted. Horrible stuff. And although I hate to make the comparison, I think a 'Hopoate' would be something yourself and Xman and all the other uptight AFL supporters on this site would prefer to a scrotum tearing testicle chomp. Am I right? Tell me I'm right! :D

Peter Filandia (born 14 May 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer. He started his career in 1992 at Essendon but left the club at the end of 1992. After not playing the following year he was recruited to the Sydney Swans from Essendon at pick 6 in the 1994 pre-season draft.

Following the completion of his AFL career in 2000, Filandia joined Port Melbourne Football Club as its captain and assistant coach. He was notable for being suspended for 10 matches after admitting he bit opponent Chad Davis' scrotum during a match.[1]

He is currently the runner for the Western Bulldogs.

I didn't know he was a former player who played 83 games (now that I look at the name I recognise him). I take back the statement that he had nothing to do with the AFL. He had almost nothing to do with the AFL being a former player. Everything else I said was fine because it was not in an AFL game and the not done by an AFL player.
Ask yourself this. Would you prefer to play against Hoppa who has stuck his finger up multiple peoples arses or would you prefer to play against Filandia who might accidently (or delibriately)bite you on the nuts if you apply pressure to his face with your legs? In my opinion one is a serial offender the other one probabaly preformed a reflex act due to being unable to breathe. As for damage done I agree the bite did more damage (im not sure what I would prefer to tell you the truth but I would feel less sexually violated by the bite), but at least theres a logical reason for it, unlike what Hoppa did.

Overall I dislike this sort of thread and I usually try to avoid them. Both codes have scumbags that do stupid, dangerous and criminal acts. But I think if I had to pick which act is the worse one I am going with the Hoppa act every time because of the deliberate, sexual and serial nature of it.

"That's disgusting isnt it John?"

"Yes, yes it is"

Quality journalism at its best!

Yes pies you're right, there's scoundrels in both sports and really they're part of the fabric of any culture. Unfortunately most the AFL clan in here are unable, like pies, to acknowledge the scoundrels in their own sport.

But my question pies was not posed for you to consider the serial nature of hopoates crime but rather which, if it had to happen to you, would you prefer. I can see you're put at odds with this question so i'll take your "im not sure what i would prefer" response.

Xman clearly prefers to risk his life and potential to procreate by having his testicles chomped. such is his intellectual capacity

i don't think that's true KE. I acknowledge there is poor behaviour in the AFL, but the incidents are worse in the NRL.

Xman, what is worse? Performing sexual acts with a dog or injecting yourself and a teenage girl with drugs and then letting her die?
What is worse? Beating a cab driver or robbing a cab driver?
Whats worse? Letting a dangerous criminal drive you home while he shoots bullets all over the place and then say nothing to the police or pissing all over the place in a public place? Im sure you can name quite a few more like this for both codes.

Theres no real difference between both codes young men. They are simply stupid young men and in my opinion these acts have little to do with the sports of RL and AR, you will find young men acting like this comming from many different facets.

Yes some fine points there Pies and I hope Xman pays you the respect to answer your questions properly. Though I highly doubt he will show such dignity.

But dont forget pies, many of the young folk in both codes are fine outstanding citizens. The rascals are there and quite honestly they mostly add character and the human touch to the contemporary world of professional sport. Carney has a drinking problem and acts up a bit from time to time...ahh he's in his early 20s either laugh at his tomfoolery or give him a break, but we shouldnt get all uppity about the lad. Injecting teenage girls with drugs and sleeping with your mates wife though, well thems not really laughing matters.

They should do one for Robert Lui after he repeatedly hits his girlfriend whether she's pregnant or not.

"That's disgusting Robert, isn't it?"

"Maybe. I didn't get arrested for it or the sack from my club and as I'm a thugby minda I can't learn from my own mistakes. So if the punishment isn't severe I'm likely to strike again."

spock .. or someone ?
only got a 4 week suspension for this vile ... low .. appalling act

meanwhile Lui has been de registered completely by the NRL , if he ever gets to play again ... by the time he does , his penalty will be paramount to a 2 year 48 game suspension ..

look at the difference in the punishments .............. are the VFL kidding ? [-( [-( [-(
both players ought to be banned for life
but at least one code is serious about violence toward women .... & the other is full of hot air ... & BS , like it is about most things.
