I think edihad might be a future ground for the Storm I feel it might take 10-15 years but they will get bigger.

Just got Swans prelim tickets at Westfield Eastgardens Ticketek. Heart of South Sydney Rabbitohs territory and yet there were more Swans fans in line for tickets. Took over an hour to get tickets. Will be interesting to see the crowd numbers on Friday and Saturday night.

Record-breaking weekend in prospect for footy finals at ANZ Stadium
Andrew Webster

MELBOURNE reckons it's the centre of the sporting universe. But next weekend, the NRL and AFL will unite to produce the biggest crowds at ANZ Stadium since the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Officials are predicting record turnouts of more than 75,000 for Friday night's preliminary final between the Sydney Swans and arch-rivals Collingwood, followed the next evening with an all-Sydney grand-final qualifier between South Sydney and the Bulldogs.
All roads will lead to Sydney Olympic Park as the precinct takes on a distinctive Olympics feel about it with thousands of fans converging.
The Rabbitohs have become the Cinderella story of the NRL finals as they attempt to reach their first grand final since their fabled premiership in 1971. As for the Swans, they have lost their last seven matches to the Magpies at ANZ Stadium.
The last time the ground hosted back-to-back preliminary finals was in 2006 when just over 60,000 fans went to the Swans-Fremantle AFL clash and a little over 40,000 attended St George Illawarra's NRL match against Melbourne.
The NRL's preliminary final record is 74,549 for a Canterbury-Eels game in 2009.
"This is potentially one of the biggest footy finals weekends in Sydney sporting history and it is certainly the biggest since the Olympic venue was built," ANZ Stadium managing director Daryl Kerry said.
Direct trains from Central to Sydney Olympic Park and major event buses are already in place for the city's massive sporting weekend.
Tickets to both finals go on sale to club members today and tomorrow for the general public.

When during our home and away season. When would they get on the ground.I like the sentiment but I think vlad is a bit more ferocious than that.I may be wrong but I cant see it happening.Any way storm would have massive contract at aami to get it built.piesman2011 wrote:The AFL will be happy to take the NRLs money to play on edihad.

nervous ... Hardly

20,000+ tickets sold for the AFL and 17,000 for the NRL.
Blockbuster crowd building
The first day of ticket sales to Friday night's Preliminary Final have been impressive
The first day of ticket sales has seen thousands of tickets sold to Friday night’s Preliminary Final blockbuster between the Sydney Swans and Collingwood at ANZ Stadium.
The member pre-sale, which began at 9:00am this morning, is on track to sell 20,000-plus tickets before this evening’s 9:00pm cut-off.
Sydney Swans Chief Executive Andrew Ireland said the club is thrilled with the early response from Swans’ fans ahead of Friday night’s do-or-die clash with the Pies.
“We are on track to move 20,000-plus tickets today in the pre-sale,” Mr Ireland said.
“This great early response, plus the huge interest shown from approximately 10,000 ANZ Stadium members has set the scene for a blockbuster crowd for Friday night’s game.”
Mr Ireland encouraged all Sydney Swans members to take advantage of the final hours of the membership pre-sale and get on board for Friday night’s home final.
“As a football club we are urging Sydney-siders to get to ANZ stadium and cheer on the Swans in this important game, as the advantage a large home crowd provides cannot be replicated,” he said.
“With only a few hours remaining before tickets are open to the general public, our members should take advantage of their priority purchase option and support the Swans in Friday night’s final.”
Swans members accessing the pre-sale this evening will be required to enter the 12-digit barcode on their 2012 Sydney Swans membership card when prompted to secure their seats for the game.
Tickets will then go on sale to the general public at 12:00 midday on Tuesday through Ticketek.
