I asked for proof of melbournite support numbers dropping in RL attendance and viewing. Last nights figures show more again tuned in to watch RL. I'm sorry TLPG but all the evidence suggests that yes, melbounites are starting to fall in love with league :DTLPG wrote:SOO doesn't count towards a "love" of thugby. They've made an event out of it. Until then TLPG, you're looking pretty loco my man. Llllllllloooooco!

The figures are for SOO. The lack of interest in RL overall is proven by ratings for FN NRL. This year the total of Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne has averaged around 30k!King-Eliagh wrote:I asked for proof of melbournite support numbers dropping in RL attendance and viewing. Are the ratings dropping Xman? Or are they growing? Cause if they're growing i think we have clear evidence that Melbournites are starting to fall in love with league. :D
If you cant handle this, which you wont, I certainly hope if GWS ratings increase in Sydney over the next few years that you'll happily state Sydney is not starting to fall in love with marngrook

Cornered yourself, KE. Get back to us when there are as many thugby clubs in Melbourne as there are footy clubs in Sydney. SOO doesn't count like I said. It doesn't demonstrate a love of thugby. It shows a love of a sporting event with it's own identity - State of Origin: NSW v QLD.

And keep on topic for a change, we're not talking about which code has more clubs in melbourne or sydney darlin

No one in Melbourne cares if it's thugby or tiddley winks. It's STATE OF ORIGIN!
And you were talking about a love of thugby in Melbourne, so what I said about number of clubs is VERY relevant!
You keep running like this, I'll send you to London for the Olympic Games!

SOO is a one off due to NSW being beaten so many years in a row. Once they win a few it'll be back to normal.King-Eliagh wrote:Both anus mouth.Xman wrote:SOO figures or NRL?King-Eliagh wrote:Are the ratings dropping Xman? Or are they growing? Re: Is Melbourne Starting To Fall In Love With Leagu
TLPG aka the greatest ignoramous of them all, what sport is played in this SOO you speak of?
Now the key word in the title, which clearly none of you have read or comprehended, is 'starting'. Alls I see is increased audiences attending and watching RL in melbourne. I'd say that's a clear indication of 'starting' to fall in love with the game. Whether there's 1 grass roots club or 100 means nothing. The answer is yes, Melbounites are starting to fall in love with RL. And isnt it just like rubbing sand into TLPGs and Xmans eyes. 1 in 10 households on every street in every suburb, excluding the 1000's who flocked to melbournes pubs and clubs to catch RL in all its glory on wednesday night. :D
Suck it up lads, cause it'll be more than 1 in 10 next year :D :D

Ratings were 400k. The tv market is 4.5m in Melbourne.
As for this "starting" crap.

Thank you, Xman. KE is completely ignoring the "State of Origin" factor thinking Melbourne sporting people are going to watch thugby, when in fact they're watching an event in it's own right. And he has the gall to call me an ignoramus?

Another 12k home crowd for the storm bringing their home game average down to 13.75k.
This is their lowest average in 4 years and lower than their year 2000 average. AND THEYRE ON TOP!!
Yep, Melbourne sure love RL!
