With regards Vic school kids do a bit of research. Time has shown that you simply disregard any "evidence" that does not suit your view of the world eg you know that the new Independent League Commission will have the NRL/ARL still sitting under it and that only Leagues clubs have members ie there are no members of the football clubs. You are the only person going around who believes this.

Every AFL supporter knows about RL's lying culture. Don't say otherwise.

I did the maths and it is impossible for a retention rate of less than 8% (your words "If they did not retain 8% then the growth for the year had to be 16%.") to cause a recruitment rate to double from 8% to 16%. It's basic and you need to explain yourself.

As for that claim about Vic school kids, it's complete lies. It seems that 36,300 new people signed up to play Aussie rules compared to 33,700 taking up rugby league. I'm not sure how the statistics were collected, or whether AusKick participants are included; but even if they were it still suggests there has been some growth.
The key point is that it's a completely independent unbiased survey (by the Australian Sports Commission). It measured who the participants actually identified as being members thereof.

Here's the key parts -

no doubt the AFL includes this merchandise as part of its " sales " to futher fudge figures

registered seniors
they are affliated with the club as registered players ... they are not members of the club

Lets get this thread straight. Cos lettuce is clearly in the wrong suggesting a guy who has played RL for two years, at amatuer level during a hiatus from Aussie Rules is a "Big RL name". Going by his standards we could look up nephews and third cousins of AFL players who play rl and call them "big name AFL players" who convert to league.

Cos lettuce is getting all droopy and saggy.
