King-Eliagh, it is well known how NRL clubs fudge their figures so there must be questions asked. Especially as NRL clubs do not regard memberships as a priority as they never have. They rely on their attached leagues clubs and that's foul business. The links provided are not evidence of any change in this, and in fact I believe the numbers to be leagues club memberships and not NRL club memberships as such. This is what is yet to be proven.

It seems Searle has already run up the white flag and puts the blame squarely on the nrl for sheduling games in opposition to the SUNS this year and next year.

There's another example of NRL supporters not going to their clubs and telling them to fight.

I don't recall Searle saying anything of the sort

the only thing that went wrong for the Titans in 2011 was their onfield form .. & the wooden spoon that went with it
the pressue is on them to improve in 2012 .. & I have no doubt they will

the Thuns on the other hand .... are looking at 17th again & while of course they'll claim this as an improvement as it won't be the wooden spoon
smarter people will see it for what it is

the true results of this battle will be seen in 5 years time
& I have no doubt the Titans will prevail & win it .... the thuns to be plodders for quite some time to come ....

There was an article. Forgive me if I don't source it because it's minor.
Suns finished last. Titans didn't.
Suns had higher attendances and IMO on balance should be higher in 2012.
If they can move up the ladder significantly they will draw sellout crowds.
And yes, the test is the long term and I'm quite confident the SUNS will be strongly represented not just be there.

the Titans did finish last .... 8-[
the Suns had an average of 19K , not as good as the Titans in their first year at 22K .... the Titans averaged nearly 16K in 2011
( for an NRL wooden spooner thats pretty good )

the Suns won't move up the ladder .... they're awful
they'll only finsih ahead of a team that will be the worst sporting franchise in Aust History .... GWS in 2012
fans on the coast are notoriously fickle .... the Suns will find this out .. the hard way

Watch out for Raiderdave, Cos789. He has a bad habit of making grandios statements and won't back them up when challenged.

Sorry I thought they were some how better than that.
(We don't get rl here in the West.)

And 16k is fantasitic..... for a rl team.

SUNS got mostly thrashed but played some good football.
Defensively they'll be a lot better in 2012 and they have the "list".
Onfield success will gain a lot more.

Surely the NRL have learnt a lesson and wont schedule Titans games up against the Suns? They got smashed this year everytime they tried that silly stunt.

I doubt it, Beaussie.
