The Swans are actually disadvantaged by having to draft more players from interstate. The giants are even more disadvantaged because being a new club they wont get draft compensations through the father son rule for 2 decades minimum.

in an uncompromised comp every team has the same level of media exposure which provides the same level of advertising and sponsorship revenue. Better coaches, better facilities, better staff are the result. Ever wonder why the Broncos are always in the finals? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisbane_Broncos Look at this crap. Theyve missed the finals only twice in nearly 30 years!!! :_<> :_<> :_<>
the broncos are owned by news corp, hence the name newscorp broncos, they are whored out like Eddie does his pies!

its similar to when news corp owned the Minnowbourne storm, the NRLOL & Newscorp spend millions extra on them to make them popular and relevant, the Monnowbourne storm, raided other clubs & leagues to their team
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

Xman he has no understanding - there is and never has been a I compromised competition - from figuring to interstate travel - Collingwood has it well documented they travel the least during a season (Sime NRL clubs I would imagine fall into this category), they also play the majority of games at the MCG and have the GF there - that equates to an advantage whatever way you look at it. WB are playing their first game away from their home ground of Edihad for the year and were in RD 7 etc etc. COLA no longer exists, the Swans got it as did GC and GWS, SA clubs their benefits as does WA teams as does Vic teams. What matters is what chance of winning the premiership that matters, with 8 of the last GF's going to Vic clubs his argument doesn't stack up!

oh yes Wanderers are even younger than GWS so you really cant use the 5 year old excuse with us. Oh but I guess the difference is we know what success looks like. You guys win a game at it's like you won a final
Post the difference is the Wanderers have earned there success through hard work and graft. The Wanderers in a period of 3-4 years have clearly been embraced by those that love the world game in Western Sydney.

GWS have been given the best young AFL players all over the country and basically have still failed to make a mark..
So the Wanderers earned their success eh?

Turn it up, I know Sydney FC fans who will tell you the Wanderers were set up and owned by the FFA with the express intention of being very successful on field from the get go, in order to increase the $$$ value team could be flogged off for a few seasons later.

They were given best talent available all paid for by the league. No years of struggle whilst developing talent like GWS had to endure.

When you see WSW crowds when they're not doing so well, you can understand why the A-league was so desperate to create instant success. Will end up like Melbourne Storm I suspect. Instant success however hardly embraced by the wider community, even decades later.

Again earned success? You're hilarious :(/
Just about everything you said there is a load of bullcrap.

Post Hoc you mind explaining the first 3 months of the WSW existence and where the foundation club players came from? What leg ups did the Wanderers get from the FFA?

I dont pretend to know everything on WSW like Bea, who thinks he knows it all about the WSW but has no clue as you can see from his reply.....

Btw nice try Bea, you come on here once every 6 months and still manage to know fuck all about your subject matter, Best to just stay quite if you dont know the subject matter champ lol
Sorry I have been away eels, been licking my wounds after the grandfinal loss. LOL

You are 100% correct, I find it hilarious the claim by beaussie that the Wanderers were set up to succeed.

I would suggest beaussie watches this little doco https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwJS6l7treI

The Wanderers were not started until 17 May 2012 when Gorman (now head of the Sharks) was appointed CEO and Popa was named as the coach. No players were signed no name, no ground no colours.

That didn't come along until the end of June, 25 June when the name the Wanderers was announced with logo, ground and colours. And 3 players were signed. (Season starts in October)

So with 12 weeks to the start of the season the club at 3 players (club should have 23) most of the domestic players were contracted to the existing clubs, the wanderers were basically made up of players the other teams had rejected, their contracts had expired or they were released.

So to even think they were set up to win by the FFA was just plain stupid. They went even further and actually became the first Australian team to win the Asian Champions league with close to that same squad. Champion team versus team of champions etc

So eelsofwest was 100% correct in his earlier statements
Commiserations on the final loss Post Hoc, What the WSW have achieved in such a short time is amazing, you should be proud.

Like i thought the WSW have earned there spot in Western Sydney, the GWS Giants have been given every advantage possible to try and make them successful but to no avail.

How any sports fan can follow the AFL in sydney knowing that the competition is rigged is beyond me. =D>
Yet despite your and other equally ignorant and deluded fools they do and now have 12500 members and an average over 10k crowds looks to me like it's working!
Is that the western Sydney membership only or does it include Canberra?

Everywhere, clubs don't differentiate - and before you say the obvious, ALL clubs have supporters in other areas and not just their home base. It's due to the nature of modern society where people don't live in their traditional areas.

Oh my .
Things balance out - just the same as Paramatta were rampantly breaching the salary cap so has most other NRL clubs - that's why they didn't win the NRL premiership even though they were cheating - the culture of cheating in the NRL is so strong that most do it (although I suspect all do). Therefore their Comp may appear compromised but as a result is balanced out. With the AFL the interstate travel, the go home factor, etc etc has balanced the comp out with COLA and Academies. But we have a draft and you have salary cap cheating, so there you go. :)))

When thinking of being compromised based on concessions given I wonder whether we also have to consider the disadvantages start up clubs and clubs in non traditional markets have also. Do they balance out or is it skewed too far in favour of the team in question?

This is not rocket Science, its a compromised comp designed to give a massive leg up to the North.

Giving concessions to startups so they balance out does not change a thing, its a compromised comp by HQ and is enough for most to not even bother.

I guess the question is would it be compromised if they did not have some concessions...or do they balance out? For mei think there is some balancing out. A bit like the draw... I think the AFL followed the nrl in having the lower teams from the year before playing each twice ?
