Firstly .any real(that excludes you) RL fan knows exactly what Parra is talking about.Cracker wrote:Do you think this has contributed to Queensland's winning streak?
It gets discussed every yr at SOO time .
Strange that you as a rl fan

2ndly how the fuck can anyone associate QLDs winning streak with the impact SOO has on club footy..
Just give up the pretence now .
you are not fooling anybody.
You have no fucking idea about RL.

Re: 8,000 tickets remain unsold for State of Origin
have we got the balance right between SOO & its impact on the NRL
no we haven't
will we get it right
yes we will
what we have to accept is origin does take centre stage & always will & our clubs will naturally have to take a back seat to extent & be content in sharing revenues from this massive series as compensation
hell
all other sports take a back seat , even Sthners start talking origin & look forward to watching their annual fix of elite Rugby League
that can't be a bad thing ....
I'd say pennies for pounds in the next media rights deal starting in 2018
Origin will be a stand alone Sunday evening game with 3 byes for all sides through the series
each weekend around the origin game on the sunday will feature other rep games
the U 16, 18 & 20's origins as a series ... not one offs
the Pacific Test to see which Sthn Hemisphere side qualifies for the 4 nations tournament
the Residents game
NSW cup combined side V QLD cup combined side
all televised on foxtel to keep their content up
an origin in Sydney will be played on the Sunday of the Queens Birthday long weekend every year & will become a massive tradition in NSW with it promoted with game & travel packages with folks from country NSW & QLD ( and everywhere else to , Vic .. WA .. SA as its a national holiday ) encouraging folks to .. make a weekend of it in Sydney with the holiday on the Monday.
people will Flock to this " event " from all over.
ensuring
sellouts every game
4 million plus on the TV.... every game
& a lot less disruption on the Club scene as we have more of our stars available for their club commitments
this is where we are going
if fumblers trembled in fear with origin as it is now .... just wait for the above

Queensland's winning streak could be linked to the fact that the majority of clubs are in New South Wales. That is what I was insinuating. I'm not saying I'm right about that of course. I was just leading the conversation into something controversial. The only controversy you seem to fire up about is outside of football - either code.
With Raiderdave's reply, well said. I disagree with AFLcrap1 that the NRL will want it to stay on Wednesday. That will be the demand of Nine, because of the ratings. There's no reason why it couldn't garner the same ratings on a Sunday night. It's no different to the grand final in that regard. The NRL will know that.

he is a soo topic, why is there so much interest in soo, yet stuff all interest in the NRL compitionCracker wrote:So you are a mind reader now? You really do need that break from here.
Back to the topic, please.

the 3 soo games makes 19.4 million of the whole NRL 90 million total non broad cast earnings taken from the NRL annual report
and apparently 40% of the total NRL billion dollar broad cast deal

state vs state gimmick
NRL interest,

Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million
