Put shit on Adelaide and RL all you like, but until they have their own team to support, why should they care?
Meanwhile, I see the mighty GWS rated 13k on the weekend live in Sydney.

Re: NRL Officially Dead In South Australia
Yep... Hence the need to expand AFL into that region. What amazes me is the ratings for AFL games that neither the swans nor the giants are playing in.

Re: NRL Officially Dead In South Australia
That is one criticism I have for the NRL. They should have told Nine that as part of the last deal they have to show all games they have access to in prime time across Australia.Phelpsy wrote:Well that's up to the sport to negotiate with the channel as they AFL did. Why should nine Adelaide show rl in prime time ... If they do that why not other minor sports such as basketball, hockey, baseball etc etc which have much I believe would have higher par riparian and following !

If they had breached any agreement there would be legal action taking place now and there isn't.Raiderdave wrote:they did dickheadCracker wrote:That is one criticism I have for the NRL. NRL Officially Dead In South Australia: Not accordingly to this article,
http://www.nrl.com/rugby-league-sets-si ... fault.aspx
“Introducing the game of rugby league to Mt Gambier is a great opportunity for the game, the NRL and the local sporting community,” Mr Kennedy says.
“An important part of the NRL Game Plan in South Australia is to continue developing the game in regional areas. Currently, the SARL has clubs well-established in the Spencer Gulf and Murray Bridge region.”
NRL’s partner Touch Football Australia is already established in Mt Gambier and proven to be a great success says Touch Football SA’s General Manager Tim Wyld.
“Mount Gambier and the greater Limestone Coast region has a long and decorated history with Touch Football, and the Mount Gambier Touch Association is one of the largest regional Touch Football participation bases in the state. In addition to this, there is also a large number of local schools heavily engaged with our sport,” Mr Wyld says.
“I am thrilled that the SARL has identified the region to introduce the tackle component of the game as this will not only provide another sport and recreation option for the local community but assist both codes grow in the region through increased awareness and collaboration.”

Re: NRL Officially Dead In South Australia
Dogs, it is naturally promising to read about the Spencer Gulf, Murray Bridge and Mount Gambier areas - but the vast majority of the SA population is in Adelaide and that's where the work needs to be done.
