the highest crowd ever for the cricket is only Cricket – 38,87 and there has been several sell outs for that
the highest crowd for the AFL 37,224
the 42. capacity is crap, as there are restraunts and bars in several of the stands, the other thing that league doesn't have to deal with, is the cricket club in the GABBA that has control certain sections

the same issue the MCG has with the MCC. all tickets will be sold, but the MCC area may still be rather empty
but then again you will not understand, as the NRL doesn't have to many sell outs or many people turn up to games

& not a sellout in any way shape or form

Crickets highest crowd there is 39,841 in 2006
100% of capacity

the record attendance for the ground is actually 47,096 held by Rugby League of course

there has never been a sellout for any fumbles & bumbles game in QLD ever
not for the Kitty Kats
not for the Thuns


whilst every other sport there is has experienced this in QLD :_<> :_<> :_<>
& all 3 QLD NRL sides have .... on many occasions

so there has been several sell outs.

as for that record crowd, that is because the GABBA use to be a greyhound racing track. it had the field, with the track around it. it is a completely different venue now days
