Last yr .top 3 spots went to SOO ..

You are a poster boy for DUMB..

Because your backward sport has NO rep games ,you are insanely jealous of what RL has..
Keep posting ..
Its great comedy.
well aside from THE top rating event...the AFL Grand Final.
Not last yr .
SOO 1.2 & 3 were the top 3 rating sports shows..
In fact RL had 4 out of the top 5 .
SOO isnt the NRL. Its a quality event, but its a separate event. Let's be honest, the bandwagon factor is massive. The hype is primarily about prIde between NSW and QLD, not even sport specifically

If SOO is not NRL, can you point me to the last person from outside the NRL to actually play SOO?
I don't see how thats relevant.

The AFL are about to play an international against Ireland. It certainly isnt AFL but every Australian player will come from the AFL

Because SOO is still the same game ,still RL.

Whatever abortion of a made up sport that AFL have to play to pretend they are 'International " is NOT AFL.
Big difference.

The SOO may come from the NRL but its a separate competition between nsw and qld. The rest of the country's RL players are excluded, or should be

And who do they play for given their state of origin isnt NSW or QLD?

I don't know, look it up yourself.

What am I, your secretary?

RL has been played in WA, NT for at least half a century, the State/Territory Rep sides have played against the other states and against other nations when they were on tour. I have scores in a book and the crowd numbers for Vic and SA vs France in the 50's, so there has been some RL played in these two places on and off for a fair while too. As for how many people have come from these places and played top grade RL, I have no idea.

So back to the original point, how do NRL players from Vic, SA or WA RL represent their state in SOO? Seems to me SOO isnt NRL, its the best of NSW v QLD

That makes no sense. Are they selected to play for a state they didnt come from, or are they excluded?

You do have to give it to rl in aus they do SOO well. I do think though it is a poisoned chalice. One easily fixed though by playing it outside the nrl season.

Back to xman's point - who does someone from Vic, SA, WA, NT ACT and Tassie play for??? State of Origin means just that your state where you originated from - Parra who would want to play for NSW or QLD if you came from one of those other states or territories? Particularly given they advertise it as state vs state??????
