Allianz gets half the crowd because it's a poor venue.

To my knowledge there was only one foundation club that played out of what was commonly refferred to as "The Sportsground". How many clubs play out of sports grounds? and how many were refferred to as THE Sportgronds.?
Nice try Cos.

Cracker wrote:No it wouldn't because you'd scare off the Manly supporters. And likely the Roosters and the Rabbitohs as well. Three of the biggest fan bases in town.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Wrong spot, no team that plays out of it would have the hope of filling bar once or twice a year.
Put it out west and it would be filled a hellava lot more.
Allianz is in the right place, and it's also right for the NRL to go head on with the AFL - because the AFL has been doing it to them for years and it's partly why they are winning the battle at present.
If you think Manly Roosters and Rabbitohs are the biggest clubs in Sydney, you have rocks in your head or you really have no idea because you are an AFL fan pretending to know everything about RL.
The biggest clubs are out west.

Yes, your old club played out of there for years, more or less still do.cos789 wrote:To my knowledge there was only one foundation club that played out of what was commonly refferred to as "The Sportsground". Come on Cracker, work it out.
http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/summary.html
Lots of info in there about stadiums and crowds, should also tell you which clubs are the most supported over a period of time.

The SFS is a great stadium for rl.Cracker wrote:He said out west.

There is only a certain amount of protection from the weather
but it's a lot better than the average AFL and nrl stadium and
can hold most of it's current crowds under protection.
As a venue it's not so flash as it's situated near and competes with the SCG and old showgrounds.
That could be solved by better fixturing.
It's also a very long walk or a congested road from Sydney and whilst that alone is not a great factor it's an extra leg if using public transport so not terribly attractive to those outside of the Eastern suburbs.
For those inside the Eastern Suburbs IMO it's great because it's situated close to the social part of Paddingtion and is great for the Roosters, Bunnies, Jets and even the Dragons.
Nice try Cos.
