Given how much was hidden at the time of the scandal, again it's not without possibility that whatever due diligence was taken failed.

Again you're guessing. If the owner of the club isnt a decent source then no one isCracker wrote:Given how much was hidden at the time of the scandal, again it's not without possibility that whatever due diligence was taken failed.

That rather depends on how good his underlings are correct? Even the best can get it wrong when he or she has the wrong staff.

Why is that better proof than the owner of a club. Somehow I think they would know if the ASSETT they were buying ran at a loss, wouldn't you say?Cracker wrote:Read ParraEelsNRL's link. That's the proof.

You have way too much faith in the man don't you? Are you saying the article is a flat out lie? If so I think you need to prove it.

No need to prove it. We know it.Cracker wrote:You have way too much faith in the man don't you? Are you saying the article is a flat out lie? If so I think you need to prove it.
If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside then believe what you wish.

From the article: The annual reports show Melbourne turned a $1,648,600 profit last year, the only time it finished in the black during the contentious five-year period.Cracker wrote:You have way too much faith in the man don't you? This was referring to 2009. So 2005-2008 the storm made losses. Therefore it doesn't contradict the new owners comments at all

The owner never said that. So no, the articles don't contradict each other and there has been sufficient proof provided that the Storm were making substantial losses prior to the salary cap scandal, which was the original claimIncoming Storm chief executive Mark Evans said the club, which cost News an estimated $75 million in losses in its 15-year history, had a plan to break even in “four to five years”.
The Storm has cut its annual losses from between at least $4 million and $6 million to closer to $2 million in recent years under departing CEO Ron Gauci, who has grown crowd and corporate hospitality numbers. The club has signed 15,000 members this season.

But did you say that? That's what I was checking.
Just for the record, the profit year was also before the the salary cap scandal broke. The last year in fact - 2009.
