XMAN, I have been challenged about AF in NZ I have provided the link yet crackpot refuses to even discuss the matter.
Can we somehow officially acknowledge the bleeding obvious the AF is played in NZ or suspend crackpot until he does so.

I have already done so, Cos789. Now drop it please.
Xman, I claim personal experience as back up of the claim that King Eliagh is questioning. Experience that clearly exceeds his own as has been previously proven with all the holes in the stories he tells about his experience.

Thanks Xman.
Cracker, I'm afraid the evidence is stacked against you. I have never heard of this protocol and am very worried you are simply making shit up in this instance, which is a very very culturally inappropriate thing to do.
You should know better.
Ntaria school and primary health care clinic has staff who are local community members along with white folk who have migrated there. Both are officially registered under that name. Additionally I worked with folk from there and they had no probs with outsiders using the term. Using only a places coloniser name in my opinion is disrespectful and ignorant of this country's history and if our education system got its ass into gear we'd all need to learn the original place names. In fact this perspective is currently gaining momentum.
Additionally AIATSIS, a recognised leader in developing culturally appropriate research and teaching materials, among other things, have developed a map for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians to better understand the diversity of Aboriginal Australia and the many and varied Aboriginal countries and name places throughout aus. This has ntaria on it also. I could go on but the point is made.
I'm afraid cracker will need to take back his statement. If he refuses I suggest a brief banning, along with the deletion of the post. Your call though Xman

And I am also entitled to express my personal experience. Which is that you do NOT refer to the local Aboriginal name - socially. Perhaps I should have clarified this. If something is actually called something officially (and I believe that I am entitled to ask for proof that the school in Hermannsburg is actually called by that other name) then this may be an exception. Lytentye Apurte football club would fit under this, otherwise it's Santa Theresa.
What we have here at best is a clash of experience. Given that King Eliagh has already demonstrated a desire to proceed along a path that can only lead to the disappearance of these communities, I would suggest that it is he who should be backing down from his position and show more respect to the culture than he is showing.

I have decided to stop pressing point because I don't need to.Cracker wrote:I have already done so, Cos789. Now drop it please.
I made a statement and backed it up with a link.
So for all intents and purposes Australian Football is played in New Zealand irrespective of anyone's opinion.
So end-of-story.
Nice try Cos.

Thank you. Now we can finally move on.
I need to know something. Is this thread the sole place to note and link claims that need proof? Or does it suffice to note it at the source of the claim?

I honestly don't know what the problem was (with you).Cracker wrote:Thank you. Now we can finally move on.
I think for good house keeping it's best have claim and proof together. If there is a dispute that cannot be resolved then come here.Cracker wrote:I need to know something.
