I must admit that while there were apparently 1.3 million people watching on television (including my good self) there were only 18K at the game last night. I was obviously disappointed but not really surprised at our loss 12-18. It was a good game and it was a shame that we couldn't stop the match winning try for the Broncos.

This doesn't auger well in the crowd sense for the game at Brookvale tonight.

Sorry, with only just over 600k metro viewers the total viewers for last night will barely beat 1m

Youre wrong. The AFL regionals have been shown to be around 1/3 of metro, and the NRL about 2/3. I've proven this time and again in the TV ratings thread.

Why Crackers Keenan?

With the competition from the A-League derby, if Canterbury/Brisbane could only draw 18K without competition what hope did Manly/Melbourne have with? And as it turned out my fears were vindicated. Only 14K at Brookvale while 40K turned up at Allianz. No other crowds broke 20K aside from the round opener.

The NRL has problems. But hopefully they will get some good crowds next weekend, especially at Allianz after that shock win the Eels had over the Warriors. The Roosters will be angry after being touched up by the Bunnies. I expect the Broncos to draw the biggest crowd of the round however.
