The reality is the last time numbers were investigated it showed actual REGISTERED playing numbers had dropped..
That is why I laugh & call Bullshit ...
Just look at the QLD report from a few weeks ago ..
Some **** was counting Mums & dads who went to watch Auskick...
Reckons there are 400 K when they are counted ..

Again Lawson report was done in October 2012 and related to Western Sydney not NSW as a whole - again when you don't like what you read do you search and see if the figures are correct no you just call them false and lies! Well if your crystal ball is so good BY ALL MEANS post the actual figures! If not I guess it's just sour grapes again! (I knew no matter what was posted you would dispute it!)AFLcrap1 wrote:You laugh at a RL experience But then HIGHLIGHT "PARTICIPATION NUMBERS.

I want ACTUAL registered players ..
& you can bet you would have to look hard to find them .
The real story never look as good as the Propaganda..
& NO it wasn't just about WS.
It was NSW & ACT AFL..
In the chase for participant numbers in NSW and ACT, a shortened and often subsidised version of Auskick has been aggressively rolled out in primary schools (In-School Auskick) and after-school centres (Community Auskick). The In-School participants have rarely elected to join an Auskick program. Their school has chosen to include an Auskick program.
Junior club feedback has indicated that the In-School and Community versions have, at times, harmed Club Auskick. Consequently, the longer term retention of entry level participants has been jeopardised in two fundamental ways, discussed shortly.
12
5. JUNIOR CLUB FOOTBALL
5.1 Description
Junior club football in the Greater Sydney Region operates under the auspices of the AFL Greater Sydney Juniors (AFL GSJ). It comprises five regions in 2012, with 65 junior clubs, providing 440 teams across eight age groups (U9 to U16).
A Board, currently seven people, chaired in 2012 by John Holmquest and supported by Secretary Bob Robinson (an AFL NSW/ACT Manager, appointed to the GSJ Board) oversee the GSJ. The five regions each have a Regional Committee comprising a Chairman and between four and nine members.
5.2 Pathway Links
AFL GSJ Player intake includes:
Auskick graduates or „first timers‟ (likely to have sampled Australian football at their Primary School) join the entry level
teams at U9 or U10.
the intake into older teams (U11 to U16) are either transferring from other Sydney, intra or interstate Australian football clubs or „first-timers‟, often students who have experienced Australian football in their school environment.
AFL GSJ Player output includes:
AFL GSJ players may be selected in regional representative teams, the Swans or GIANTS Academies and AFL NSW/ACT U16 RAMS. Senior Football is the next step in their pathway.

b. Retention above U14
The greatest „retention cliff‟ in GSJ football occurs from U14 to U15 age groups (-27%; 706 to 515 players in Greater Sydney). Across the five regions and their clubs many solutions are being trialled or were suggested to improve retention at this, and all other points of significant player loss.
It is too early to predict the cumulative effect on the health of senior football in Sydney, however, with the growth of senior numbers halving (from 8% to 4%), U18s growth dropping from 12% to 4% and significantly more 100 point victories in 2012 in U18 Division 1 and Premier Divisions, there appears good reason to maintain a watching brief.
& lastly ,After doing this report that showed the TRUTH about fumbles ,Lawson was notasked to do one for the following yrs.
& now (HOW SURPRISING) he is on the AFL payroll.
Cant have the truth revealed so employ the bloke.

Re: Report card NSW AFL
Geez I hope your not going to cling to the Lawson report for the rest of your life - your going to be in for a rude shock! If the AFL are lying why did they commission the report and then release it? It wasn't done by Government or local councils it was done by the AFL - since this report (2yrs old). Have there been any evidence that the 2013 numbers aren't correct - no there haven't - only the AFL is at least transparent in commissioning a report and releasing it - the NRL will just claim a RL experience without quantifying or qualifying it - I know who has got the runs on the board! Nice try though but at least to have an argument that can hold water!AFLcrap1 wrote:I want ACTUAL registered players ..

Again with numbers including Auskick? I'm willing to note that New South Wales would have higher numbers than Queensland, but that would be put down to the Riverina region. The situation is the same, and outside the Riverina, Canberra (yes it's ACT but it still counts) and Sydney what is there?
