ADELAIDE has become the first Australian sporting club to boast 50,000 members.
The Crows say a five-year-old boy became the club's 50,000th ticketed member for 2006 when he signed up this week.
The milestone has the South Australian club now boasting about 6000 more members than its nearest rival, West Coast with 43,500 while Collingwood has about 37,500.
Adelaide coach Neil Craig yesterday hailed the Crows' milestone membership.
"It's fantastic for our club," Craig said.
An AFL spokesman said clubs had until June 30 to sign members after which the league released the final 2006 numbers.
