NRL Nines in Auckland
Re: NRL Nines in Auckland
6pm-10pm CENTRAL TIME dimwit....
that means the people who live in the middle of the USA (or adelaide for us) have to adjust to the masses on the east coast (same as oz). because the actual prime time is 7-10pm on sundays, and 8pm-11pm weekdays.
and to xman, i seriously doubt we are representative of countries in the asia pacific region....
Look at the rest of the anglosphere (UK, USA, NZ etc.)
Hell even the link YOU supplied agrees with me, "New Zealand and Australia have the highest proportion of viewers tuning in at any particular time – on average, 40 percent of New Zealanders and Australians watch television between the hours of 8pm and 9pm, closely followed by the Philippines with 39 percent"

Re: NRL Nines in Auckland
It's irrelevant what time zone they quote, 6pm IS considered prime time, especially on weekends where the majority of people are home to watch the news etc from that time. Highest proportion describes peak audience, not the prime time period overall. As I said earlier, the news is shown at 6pm for a reason, and rates consistently high.pHyR3 wrote:6pm-10pm CENTRAL TIME dimwit....

I wonder why the cockhead didn't post the information from this link ?

maybe because it contains this
For the majority of countries in Asia Pacific, official primetime television starts at 6pm and finishes at 11pm*. Taking a closer look at viewing habits around the Asia Pacific region, however, the time slot when the bulk of viewers tune in is between 8pm and 9pm, when close to one third of the Asia Pacific# population (32%) is watching television. The first hour of primetime, from 6pm to 7pm, garners the fewest number of viewers, with only around one in five (21%) watching television at that time

Re: NRL Nines in Auckland
back to the topic about the Auckland Nines...

P.S The Auckland Nines is looking like its going to be a great summer RL tournament, and a great addition to the NRL/ARL calendar.
its so much better than the All Stars game, i never liked the idea around the Indigenous All Stars game. the game is suppose to encourage reconciliation through recognition of indigenous contribution the RL and a celebration with a sort of 'comming together' between all Australians (both the Indigenous and non Indigenous).
the all stars game to me doesnt portray the ideals of unity and reconciliation because its one culture/race against the rest, and sadly a small proportion of fans at the all stars games(the vast majority of this proportion being fans supporting the indigineous all stars) watch these games with an almost us vs them like mentality, built up perhaps from hatred or ignorance they learned growing up.
Ive seen some fans who were supporting the Indigineous All Stars watch as a big hit is made by a player on their team and injuring the all star player, suddenly these fans start hurtleing out racial slurs etc to the injured player and people of similar background. they used the big hit on the opposition player as some kind of 'one up' over another race, that to me is not reconciliation, its just the so called reverse racism out to play.
reverse racisim = switching each generation from the victim to aggressor and so forth...
