The way he handled the issue where he was racially abused by the Collingwood fan shows exactly why he is a great choice. Despite the fact it clearly upset him he made the issue as public as possible but refused to make it about the girl specifically. More so, he used the ugly incident to educate the public about how racism still exists and why efforts must continue to be made to bring about change.

Same as his reaction to Eddies comments. He understood Eddie isn't a racist, merely someone who didn't have a full grasp of how comments like he made could be seen as racist.
