NRL Disgrace: Which NRL player will be discraced next?

Sure, every sporting code has its bad apples, just as any community will have criminals, hooligans and general trouble makers. However, this being said, there is something fascinating about the men of the 15 club competition known as the National Rugby League, a fully owned subsidy of Rupert Murdoch’s news corporation.

Almost every week of the NRL season, and often in the off season as well, there are media reports of various, isolated incidents undertaken by members of the National Rugby League competition. Sexual abuse, Assault, Drugs, Drunken behaviour, anti-social, immature, un-Australian behaviour is rampant in this so called sports code.

And to fans of sports outside of this organisation, such incidents have become somewhat of an entertaining and delightful soap opera, confirming the believe not only that Rugby League is a boring, unskilful and uncultured game, but also an abhorrent, despicable and anti-social one.

PARRAMATTA has fined wing Jarryd Hayne $1000 over an incident at a hotel on Saturday night.

Hayne, who made his first-grade debut three weeks ago, has apologised after a member of the public complained about his behaviour at The Roxy in Parramatta.

"I did not mean to offend the young lady involved, and I told her that when I spoke to her today," Hayne said in a statement.

"My actions were childish and unacceptable, and I understand and accept the penalty that I have received."

Parramatta chief executive Denis Fitzgerald said the club would not tolerate misconduct.

"As soon as the allegations were brought to our attention, we moved swiftly in talking to both Jarryd and his manager," Fitzgerald said.

"Jarryd apologised to the young lady, which was accepted, but the club felt it appropriate a financial penalty be imposed to reflect our disappointment."

The latest incident is the third to engulf the embattled club in recent weeks.
Players Mark Riddell and Tim Smith were each fined $5000 and dropped to Premier League last month for turning up drunk to a recovery session.
And captain Nathan Cayless was reprimanded for damaging a security camera in a Star City casino lift
