& watching the Thunder fumble & bumble around like clowns to their 19th defeat in a row to the Hurricanes

it got me thinking

who is the worst team in Australia
lets put up the 10 worst professional sports teams in this country

NRL .. Parramatta , 2 wooden spoons in a row 17 wins from 72 games in the last 3 years... winning % 24
VFL .. Midgets , 2 wooden spoons in a row , experienced 22 straight losses over 2012/13 , 3 wins total from 44 games in the last 2 years..... winning % 7

As much as they are a laugh they are about 1,000,000 miles in front of GWS when it comes to setting up a team.

Why send some geriatric old fuck (who Victardians seem to think is some legend) to win over the muticultural population of WS by making racist comments.
The same retread alienated RL fans of the area.

They then leave the oval that was upgraded for them ,& was actually in WS to move to Breakfast point.

Then try to whore games off to Canberra ,which must be South South Very South West Sydney.

Try to market themselves as an alternative to RL for the smaller less physical kids who didn't want to play against far bigger Islander kids.
They were going to achieve this by buying a large Islander RL player ,to appeal to the Islander population of WS..Oxymoron much?

Sheeds wasn't employed as a marketing exercise, he was employed because he's good at developing a club from a weak position, and is respected as such **** AFL supporters. Therefore those AFL fans who live in Sydney are more likely to consider the giants a serious proposition especially once the club is established. To suggest the club is an abortion after only 2 seasons is ridiculous. They're building for future seasons, not coming in with an established but artificially manufactured team. The Suns will benefit from this approach in the next few seasons. The fans have a sense of ownership because they believe the side has been locally developed from a bunch of kids, not thrown together for instant success.

an average squad who boomed .... & the Storm have had the most professional scouting set up in Australian sport ever since
they've never signed a super star ... ever
they developed every player they'd ever acquired from the grass roots & turned them into some of the best talent in the game
the amazing thing is the speed & consistency with which the Storm did this

& who gives a fuck who bank rolled them.. News Ltd are a private company & can invest anything they want in what they own

No, Dave, the only AFL clubs that MIGHT be in that bottom ten would be GWS, Melbourne and maybe the Bulldogs. Canberra and Cronulla would definitely be in the bottom five in my opinion. Parramatta and Penrith would be down in the bottom 10 as well as probably the Titans. The Melbourne Heart and the Melbourne Rebels would be there too.

1) Midgets (VFL) ... a brand new team full of kids, playing against seasoned big bodies players who in 5 years times AFL coaches that they will be the team to beat. still gets better crowds than the NRl teams based in Western Sydney
2) Thunder(BBL) .... 10%
3) Thuns (VFL) ... 19% almost made the finals, have improved every season, getting bigger crowds than the titans
4) Demons (VFL) ... 22% have still won 10 premierships
5) Farce (S15).... 23%
6) Rebels (S15) ... 23%
7) Parramatta (NRL) ... 24% Giants still get better home crowds
8) Heart (AL)... 25%
9) Port (VFL) 30% played finals last year, won the flag in 2004, still gets better crowds than and NRl side
10 W Bull (VFL ) 33% the team should fold

crunulla sharks, that bad they cant find a major sponsor, never won any silverware since 1967
Adelaide Rams, folded, where crap kept loosing games and money and no interest
Gold coast titans, nothing in their time in the NRl, even a wooden spoon
Western Reds WA, played 3 years then folded, struggled to win a game
Melbourne storm, purley because a crap team like the rebels have a better crowd attendance record, even on the back of how successful the storm have been
NZ warriors been in the comp since 1995, still havent won a flag
North Qld Cowboys, apart from finishing 3rd once, struggled to make the 8 in nearly every year since their entry 1992
Penrith Panthers, 2 flags since 1966 no fans
South Sydney Rabbitohs, a successful team but where booted from the comp having no fans, aside from several high profile celebrities who brought them back , they have been shit ever since
North Sydney bears, 92 years in the NRL where dropped from the league
Western Magpies, balmain tigers, both merged after 90 years in the NRL, still had no fans so they where forced to merge still cant pull a crowd
Illawarra Steelers, St. George Dragons both merged due to having no fans
South Queensland Crushers 3 years in the NRL won 2 wooden spoons, then booted from the comp
Hunter Mariners booted from the comp after 1 year.

so yes people NRl has had the biggest failures of teams out of all major football codes
