Re: NRL's Integrity in tact , VFL's in tatters
Each time the news comes on and they mention the drugs in fumbleball or one of their stick insects done blah blah blah, the code just dies a little more, all this drugs in Fumbleball (lets face facts, the buck passers are getting their comeuppance) really is painting the game as a drug riddled we are above the law bunch of *********.

Really ? I that really your take on it eels? That the AFL is full of drug takers of banned substances? I don't get that impression. Interestingly enough I do get the impression that there is more an inclination for nrl players to knowingly take banned substances such as steroids to get stronger , but that may be me looking from the outside in. Wasn't some guy recently caught and admitted to taking banned substances ... And there was a doctor involved etc?

Re: NRL's Integrity in tact , VFL's in tatters
the common trend from the NRL fans is that the NRL commission action did the right thing with crunulla & AFL is full of drug cheats & let Essendon off, even though they got harsher penalties.Phelpsy wrote:Really ? the difference is pending on who they asked the drug that Essendon took had mixed resuts weather it was leagel or not. but it was administrated buy a professionally trained staff
yet the NRL crunulla the players took peptides , that are on the banned list, administered buy untrained people & now there are players taking court actiondue to after effects.
even worse
the Nrl commission has suspended $400k off the million dollar fine, in aid to help the club
NRL integrity commissioner Jim Doyle added: "That's why we've implemented the suspended $400,000, in order to help them actually improve as a club rather than just hit them with a $1 million fine."
http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2013 ... lty-sharks
its nothing but a slap on the wrist. the NRL has again prooved to be nothing but a shit show, a pathetic rabble that has handled the case worse than the AFL commission
so its not a million dollar fine but a 600k one
Re: NRL's Integrity in tact , VFL's in tatters
The common trend is that people see the NRL let ASADA do its job without interference,& in AFL land they see ,deals, getting GOVT officials involved .,Laughable penalties for the coach...
You should try to live in the real world.
The NRL for all its faults in the past have handled this well .
The AFL have botched this from the start(& before you ramble about NRL fans ,read some of the media from the last 2 weeks.Very very damming of the way Vlad tried to handle this.

Re: NRL's Integrity in tact , VFL's in tatters
well not exactly its quite the opposite. if you take the level of excitement from the media, all the news is about the AFL and little is about the NRL, despite the NRL having worse case scenario with players actually testing positive to banned drugs & the AFL noneAFLcrap1 wrote:The common trend is that people see the NRL let ASADA do its job without interference,& in AFL land they see ,deals, getting GOVT officials involved .,Laughable penalties for the coach...

its the reason why the AFL vastly bigger and more popular & the NRl is the minor party.
the AFL has handled the case rather badly, but how do you charge any one when no one has tested positive to a banned substance. yet still handed harsher penalties to essendon
yet the NRl, players from crunalla has tested positive to peptides and actual players are sueing for what they went through
the tuthless commission fined crunulla 1million dollars, but suspended 400k of the fine. so really its a fine of 600k.
so can you prove where these deals with asada the government agency are being done?, or is it a simply a madder of tall poppy syndrome where your spineless NRL commission hands out some penalties to crunlla, pats it self off the back & claims the AFL is doing deals with ASDA.
seriously wake up to reality, dipshits, its not jealously its the real world, your game is shit, the commissions are a bunch of spineless dumb ******* and the remaining dumb ass journalists, rebecaa wilson and roy masters who print jealous ramblings against the AFL only because its game is growing and every one else is hopping off the NRL band wagon because its a shit product
other wise perhaps the nrl commission needs wake up to reality, get rid old jeccia malbouy isnt appealing to the basement dwelling virgins any more. they need to contact the manager for Status Que & con them in to cover the down down anthem song for the next 2014 nrl season. the down down song fits perfectly with everything NRL
any way is there is a pathetic flog out there who wants a Melbourne storm membership for the full season, its floating down the YARRA atm, or it you have half a brain hop on to crown casino and play a game of poker, they are giving them away.

the other way is to renew a foxtell package and you get a storm membership thrown in as well as well as the NRL package

Slow and steady wins the race for NRL and Dave Smith following fair and just outcome for Sharks

NRL bosses have outplayed their AFL rivals.
Unlike AFL supremo Andrew Demetriou, there is no egg on the face of the NRL's Dave Smith today.
Unlike Essendon, the Cronulla Sharks are not in open revolt against the game's administrators.
The NRL's probe has been slow and torturous - and it's hard to believe its investigators couldn't have moved a little quicker - but Smith can rightly say that tortoises do beat hares.
The AFL tripped up itself in its rush to tidy up the public relations mess from ASADA's still-ongoing investigation into the alleged use of prohibited substances at Essendon.
The usually sure-footed Demetriou has discovered that you can't always use a sledgehammer to crack a nut. He created bad blood at Essendon by moving so aggressively without the backing of any ASADA findings, rather than patiently working through the issues.
The spill-over effect was the now infamous interview with the wife of Bombers' coach James Hird last week, which left Demetriou contradicted and embarrassed.
Smith has kept his cool and struck a more conciliatory tone. The result is a situation where Cronulla's chairman Damian Keogh yesterday said he had no problem with Smith's handling of the process, despite the club being firmly put in its place.
Now we need the ASADA tortoise to actually finish its race so Cronulla fans can look forward to a clean start in 2014.

Re: NRL's Integrity in tact , VFL's in tatters
I think the AFL tried to handle it well but came up short. I think they started well but it unravelled. Whereas the nrl started poorly but now seems to be going okay. I think the difference was AFL wanted it handled before finals whereas nrl didn't care.
I still think the type of drugs used and serious of this will be more damming of the nrl ... One already caught.

Yeah - let's look at Sydney papers and their opinion they are only protecting the code that pays their salaries to write stories about! This is nothing but propaganda - it's interesting that until they changed the legislation to fine someone 5k a day for not speaking to ASADA that the Cronulla players showed some cooperation - how quickly you forget! Talk about SELF interest!Raiderdave wrote:Slow and steady wins the race for NRL and Dave Smith following fair and just outcome for Sharks

I think the AFL handled it poorly but the nrl initial response wasn't great either ... But it is how you finish the race that matters and nrl doing okay there.

I said at the beginning of all this that the AFL were buck passing and it would come back to bite them. I posted that in this forum and at LU.
I wonder if I will be right when I also stated that Essendon would be kicked out of the comp or relocated with a merger?
