It competes against work, sport, etc. People just arent home on Saturday arvo like they are on Sunday evening, when shops are closed, sports isnt on, people are relaxing watching TV before the weeks work. Do you think prime time shows rate better because of a simple coincidence?

I've shown it before, the ratings for the Australian open tennis final skyrocketed when it went from Sunday arvo to Sunday night.

I think they already do.
I think the AFL would enjoy the support that soccer enjoys in Sydney.
I think the nrl would also.

ABS statistics show that AFL hugely dominates Victoria in much the same way soccer hugely dominates the NSW landscape.

If you really want to talk about Australian Football in Sydney why don't you talk about the creation of an extra division to cope with the new teams, the explosion of football on the Northern penisula seeing Manly race up the divisions, first division premiers last year, permier division premier this year; or the explosion of numbers in the Eastern Suburbs seeing the creation of many new clubs especially one named Randwick City,
Nice try Cos.

People who work have no choice

Regular viewers will watch no matter what time of day. To get 4mil viewers you need occasional viewers also. They're far more likely to be home on Sunday night than Saturday arvo. This is proven by the almost every show including the Australian open tennis. Tennis fans watch no matter when the final is on. Everyone else with a passing interest will watch if theyre relaxing in front of the TV but won't change their plans to watch during the day.

If nrl do get higher ratings, and they would be expecting to with it being prime time Sunday night, it means they finished 4th. The question is, can nrl ever beat a SoO rating? Both the nrl and AFL have some catching up to do. I would be interested in what a 30 second add costs in SoO... Would be Hugh. Anyone know what it is for nrl and AFL grand final. And please, just what people think it is doesn't make it a fact lol

The fact that you rely on SOO isn't sitting well with anyone, Dave. Club games - AFL is winning so far, and with the NRL not getting their dream grand final of Souths and the Roosters.......

King of what? Single event ratings efforts tell a different story to average ratings of club competitions, Dave.

the AFL out rates the NRL full stop. Has all year.

SOO is a seperate event which rates well for reasons other than RL. Its a state v state rivalry. If it was RL your GF would rate similarly and we all know its well down as it will be this year.

It would seem, crap, that every one else but Dave thinks the nrl are going grest. I may post all the posts from nrl fans on other forums deriding the demise of the game.
