Re: Is the Barassi line a load of bs?
Rugby league has got 8 teams in the canberra raiders cup, a second division, an older men division, the junior comp goes from 4-16 years old, a girl competition, a women's comp... Geez, I don't know whereabouts in canberra you live, but it's pretty surprising that you think AFL Is bigger then RL and RU.

Geez I don't know wherabouts in Canberra you get your eyes, but you'd better get there quick because it's obvious who wins this one! Hint; it ain't rugby league!Jackyboy wrote:Rugby league has got 8 teams in the canberra raiders cup, a second division, an older men division, the junior comp goes from 4-16 years old, a girl competition, a women's comp... daddy dave will tell you don't start an argument unless you're sure of the facts and your argument is pretty stupidJackyboy wrote:Well it would be RU then not AF
considering you cannot spell your supposed home district of Tuggeranong.
It all depends on what criteria you use. RU and Australian are strong in Canberra, whilst rl includes the surrounding districts.
It depends also on what KPIs you are discussing.
But you started this thread on the Barassi line and we agree it's a load of bs now.
The figurative line is unrecognizable with numerous incursions of Australian Football into the supposed rl "heartland".
Nice try Cos.

Re: Is the Barassi line a load of bs?
Remember, it takes almost twice the number of players to field an AR team as to a rl team.
Nice try Cos.

You know that the rugby league in canberra, is on win and the AFL is on the second tier channel 7mate.cos789 wrote:daddy dave will tell you don't start an argument unless you're sure of the facts and your argument is pretty stupidJackyboy wrote:Well it would be RU then not AF

Re: Is the Barassi line a load of bs?
Professional National Rugby League clubs in canberra = 1
Professional Australian Football League Clubs in Canberra = ZILCH.
Oh wait, well Canberra does have some weird agreement to let a team of pimply faced 18 year olds come to town twice or thrice a year to cop an absolute thrashing. So lemme rephrase my assessment.
Professional National Rugby League clubs in canberra = 1
Professional Australian Football League Clubs in Canberra = minus 1.

RL is quite simply a much larger presence economically and professionally in Canberra. I'd suggest that the avg crowds for the Raiders are significnantly larger than for that team of pimple heads who visit from time to time to get their poop knocked out of em in front of a few thou ignorant, then shocked and disgruntled expat southerners
I'd also suggest your local tv viewer numbers for the Raiders absolutely trounce the ratings for those zitheaded feeble high school kids who drop in to Canberra so the locals and southern expats alike can all see the outcomes of the amazing expansion strategy and planning the head honchos down at AFL HQ have drummed up.
Yep. Canberra. Its AFL all the way! :_<>

My point, is that if AFL, is top in canberra, which it isn't, surely the games will be on channel 7.adamj1300 wrote:and your point is?Jackyboy wrote:You know that the rugby league in canberra, is on win and the AFL is on the second tier channel 7mate.cos789 wrote:daddy dave will tell you don't start an argument unless you're sure of the facts and your argument is pretty stupidJackyboy wrote:Well it would be RU then not AF

Hey Jackyboy this says their out of the NEAFL not that their going broke, there has been a re-structure of the NEAFL and they are improving the comp by having the NSW and QLD sides playing each other in a unified comp rather than as games that don't really matter.Jackyboy wrote:
