the game has objectives & there isn't a game I can think of where its players fail to achieve the basics so frequently

the VFL's players would be the last on the list of the football codes ability wise

RL players if they are lucky will pass(handball) the ball 10-15 meters max and only one player in a side is expected to kick maybe 20 meters (at most) on average they expected to run maybe 10 meters at a time a big distance is 100 meters, but this REARLY ever happens - an AFL is expected to hit the ball with one hand whilst holding it with the other between 5 - 15 meters on average, bounce the oval ball on the ground every 15 meters and must be prepared to defend and attack over distances of between 20-30 meters at a time, kick the ball to a target (some are able to kick with both feet!) at least 40 meters, tackle, mark the ball (not on their chest like RL but in their hands overhead) and be able to predict the play (no need to in RL the opposition always face you you don't have to be able look in 360 deg as they only ever come in one direction!). To get a major score ball MUST be kicked by foot between to posts 6.4 Meters apart (RL only has to touch a line 68 meters wide). Etc etc etc........RL does not have the skill of AF, and as for fumblers why is there so many knock on's in an average game of RL when all they have to do is pass (handball) the ball from one to the other, surely that is not as nearly as difficult as hitting a ball with your fist? Of course not....no NRL is by far not as skilful as AFL. No amount of whinging and calling someone a ********** will change these facts, no matter how they try and twist things - maybe thats why they do twist facts. They just don't want to admit what the rest of Australia and so many people around the world already know!

I think you just have to appreciate rl for what it is ... Big blokes smashing into one another ... Which is great to watch. Nothing wrong with it and appeals to a certain market. AFL is more about how the ball is used by foot and hand and athletic ability. Both are good in their own right. Aldo, rl is good when something happens and leads to score ... Some quick passes near the line when it's like pin ball is great when it happens.

Dave, we get you don't like AFL ... That's fine. Do you really think those who like AFL are going to read your posts and decide to change their mind. I am not a fan of soccer or nfl but you don't see me going on and on about it. You'll just have to accept that AFL is incredibly popular in this country as ratings and crowd figures show and that a lot of people like it.
