Fans? Since when was this thread about bloody fans. Its about competition, I don't care if theres still a bunch of loyal brainwashed merinos watching poor competition each week xman. I care about options to fix this lopsided comp.
It actually has everything to do with fans and you know it. NRL fans brag about how even their comp is. why is it more even? Because games are low scoring and are therefore more likely to resulting an upset. What is the benefit of a more even comp? interest from the fans, attendance, ratings. Do more fans attend or watch NRL games than AFL in Australia? Nope

End of thread
:(/ :(/ :(/

that attitude might fly in that ****** infested hole you live in

but your game is on the nose eeverywhere else
the Swines are having as much success as 6 to 7 years ago
but with half the interest

hell if it weren't for ********* ex pat Sthners in QLD .. no one would be watching the fumbling crap
I mean
does anyone who doesn't have .. or had ... a 3 as the first letter of their postcode give a flying fuck about this game ?

I say no
why is that Marcus ? :-k

wouldn't have anything to do with it being lopsided camel shit would it ?
Marcus
anything ?
postcodes have numerals not letters you idiot!

Plenty of born and bred queenlanders playing AFL on Gold Coast .. But I only live here so I wouldn't know lol. I think there is quite the union following which my son has expressed and interest . I got told by another dad (a New Zealander) whose son played rl last year to stay away from the rl comp and do union as rl full of women with no teeth and very poorly run ... Something I have heard from several dads that their sons have come over to Aussie rules . But hey, that's just my experience .

Oi, enough rambling you lot. What about the basketcase league? How do we stop it growing? 6 teams at 1001 - 1 to win the premiership. A seventh team at 501 -1 to win.

What the fukk is the AFL gunna do? Rest on its laurels?

Seems to be the general perception up here eels ... Union is seen as the rugby of choice for , lets shall we say, more educated. I don't mean to point out the obvious ... But Dave seems to support this

I think the suns are growing greatly... It would appear they are destined for finals next year however they have been hit hard by injuries now . There is certainly a lot of talk around about them here and whilst they have a solid support base already when you throw in the bandwagon jumpers it will go through the roof. If anything, gold coasters are bandwagon jumpers ...

Yes of course Dave ... Despite that being the total opposite of me talking to heaps if parents born and bred in qld who have either always barracked for an AFL team or have started following AFL in the last few years after their sons came over to play AFL. Alongside this are interstate people. That's my actual experience ... And yep there are a heap of rl followers too and union followers. My baseball team are pretty much split between AFL and rl and one or two union folks. Most follow both rl and AFL although 1 union bloke can't stand AFL. At work, no one follows sport apart from me and a young lass from nsw who is a mad suns fan.

Here is where you respond "sure cock head" Dave or dispute the clear facts of my experience. AFL suns have a strong presence.

Don't care KE, I will still follow it as will many others - the AFL will keep everyone of its 18 teams - the NRL has a very poor history of getting rid of their's (oh poor Nth Syd, Qld crushers, Hunter Mariners, Perth Reds, Adelaide Rams, Gold Coast Chargers, Newtown, Hey thats a league in itself!). GWS, Port, Saints, Melb, GC and WB here to stay!
