Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings Thread
Over 5 million ... That's pretty good given giants and suns in expansion markets.

Used the c7 numbers 2562k and multiplied it by 0.33 to work out roughly the FTA regional viewers. Then I added the foxtel and the c7 numbers to the FTA regionals and it came up just over 5 million.

Close on 1.3m difference , when we have just 1 live game.piesman2011 wrote:Round 8 AFL rated over 5 million nation wide.
With minimal changes the NRL could make up that difference. Adding a live game Saturday night in the 7.30 time slot and putting the PTV game back to 3.30, would give us a 1m increase . Making Sunday's match live would gives us at least another 200k .
4 FTA matches to 4.3 FTA matches. 5 PTV matches to 9 FTA matches. Closer to apples v apples.

Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

We will never know unless its done i guess. We could say AFL had no games up against each other would increase ratings too?? It's all speculative I guess. I can't believe nrl doesn't have any games on ftA on a Saturday though ??? That's amazing .

Simulcasting would give us a hefty lead no doubt about it. Oh and the extra game lets not forget.
AFL ratings jumped close to 30% when simulcasting was introduced, this would give us a huge lead and add the extra game and its a no contest.

IMO simulcasting wasnt the difference, it was going from 0 live games to 3. You really notice this difference yourself when comparing your two Friday night broadcasts. Simulcast has done little more then take away from the FTA metro and regionals and add to the PTV ratings. I could be wrong but that's my two cents.eelofwest wrote:Yes would be about the same Pies, but you are forgetting one thing????????piesman2011 wrote:I agree it would be about the same with apples for apples.pussycat wrote:Close on 1.3m difference , when we have just 1 live game.piesman2011 wrote:Round 8 AFL rated over 5 million nation wide.

Dude that's your 2 games against one. When you look at the live ratings the nRL was drilled. Plus the fox ratings for the simulcast.
Live nRL (two games one in each market)
@MediaweekAUS: Fri TV #NRL Nine 602k (Syd 346k Bri 256k) GEM 34k (Mel 22k Ade 6k Per 5k)
Live AFL FTA only, fox ratings yet to be added
@MediaweekAUS: Fri TV #AFL Seven 556k (Mel 434k Ade 121k) 7mate 208k (Syd 67k Bri 40k Per 101k) #AFLPiesSwans
How is that not smashed?
