Options for a lopsided comp

Yes it was a lopsided game last night and there have been a few lopsided 'games' in the nrl this season. Perhaps less than a handful more than at this time last season. But lopsided games happen, they're a normal part of every comp and in the nrl its quite difficult to tell how competitive a team will be on each night as each team belongs to be in the competition i.e. parra, the team all the AFL jerkys call a basketcase now has two wins from 5 games and are able to beat teams considered to be top 8 sides.

On the other hand the AFL has 5 or 6 sides who are quite simply uncompetitive and dont deserve to be running around in the comp. As a result, we all know who's going to win much more often in this comp. Just look at your average tipping comps and you'll see people tipping perfect rounds every second week in the AFL comp. It's broken and needs fixin.

But please, if you really do believe the nrl is anywhere near as lopsided as the AFL comp, request Xman or beaussie make this thread a sticky. You may have no luck though, I've asked them numerous times to no response. It seems they're a bit scared to take that step

the fact that its the Dogs on the end of a hiding last night .... a grand finalist last year, beaten by a bottom 4 team from 2012 is astounding & shows how talent can be spread out so quickly in the NRL

the Giants & suns are expected to be as they are completly new teams that will take a few years to establish them self.

to continuously pinpoint the AFL & say its a lopsided comp whilst making up excuses about the NRL shows how ignorant you both are.
to make excuses a few pages ago that a game where a team lost 12-0 as a hard fought game, is BS! the loosing team was crap, they failed to score.

as AFL is a much more free scoring game, it will naturally have bigger winning and loosing margins because of this. so in the NRL what would be an average winning margin, and what would be considered a good thumping?

Howdy folks

Well round three has come and gone folks and the basketcase league'ers are really starting to settle in to their routine uncompetitive thumpings.

Lets take a look at round 3 of the tbc basketcase league.

Western Bulldogs: The Western bulldogs copped a mammoth thumping by perennial 9th placers the richmond tigers. End score Richmond 135 - Bulldogs 68. Richmond dominated every quarter and those at the game knew it was gunna be a thumping about 8minutes after the opening ball up. This thumping pushes the bulldogs closer to being a confirmed basketcase team.

GWS: GWS also matched up against a team which is these days also considered a perennial 9th placer and were also dominated from start to finish. End score Stkilda 140 - GWS 68. I watched most of this game, stkilda weren't even trying, it was a horribly boring walk in the park affair with the commentators audibly at pains with their chosen profession for the full four quarters. A horribly woeful affair.

Gold Coast and Brisbane: Just as I predicted this was a close affair with Brisbane just pipping GC at the post. Unfortunately I tipped GC but what can you do. End score Brisbane 94 - GC 92. These two basketcasers are really neck and neck and the match was a most enjoyable one to watch I must say. Hence my suggestion for the official formation of a basketcase league is a good one. :D

Melbourne: Melbourne hosted the westcoast eagles and were, as usual, thoroughly embarrassed by the class of the west coast outfit. I didnt watch this one but the scoreline tells the story quite vivdly. End score West Coast 177 - Melbourne 83. It mustve been excrutiating to watch, play and commentate this match. The word hopeless pretty much sums it up...unless there's a formal movement to establish a separate national AFL basketcase league.

In other news one of last years woeful of the woefullest basketcasers had a surprising win. Port Adelaide managed to beat Adelaide today which may or may not mean this side wont make the cut for this years basketcase league. As you all know, we so far have four definite baasket case sides for this years basketcase league. Western bulldogs and Port are on the fringe and I welcome anyones thoughts on these two sides, or others you think should be in the AFL 2013 basketcase league.

I thought Port had another 4 years of basket case league to go? Yet at the moment they are yet to lose a match. Melbourne and GWS look like the strugglers this year, but that has always been the nature of the comp. The rest are going to be quite good. Keep up the self troll.

So you see pies, if port get out of their rut, I'm quite content to finally make a minor err. It's not easy being a prophet and so right all the time you know, makes me feel quite socially isolated from the likes of Xman, stewie and yourself pies

Port are a big improver. The Suns and Lions have also improved, as have the dogs id say. The demons are the struggler. The giants have improved too as we predicted, but the saints are still a decent team so they struggled on Saturday.
There certainly havent been the same number of blowouts this year though, anecdotally speaking anyway
