I'll bite. Rain forecast for tomorrow. Swans playing a zero-drawing team in the Suns.

Will still utterly smash what the Storm got in their first home game.

Swans > Storm.

1) Ignoring simulcast Fox ratings again I see.
2) Viewers =/= supporters. By your line of reasoning My Kitchen Rules is the most popular sport in the country right now.
3) You still haven't said whether you think the Swans will get a higher first home game crowd than the Storm did.

That's exactly my point. You've missed it on account of your cognitive disabilities.

Rain won't keep the majority away as it would for an nRL game. The rain won't prevent the Swans from getting a bigger round 1 home crowd than the Storm did. For those reasons that you mentioned. The lure of true football is too strong. Rain can't wash it away like it can for the nRL.

You just watch. The crowd will be bigger. Better start researching words that rhyme with 'fudgey' in preperation for your excuses.

Source for 13k? I mean, I assume like all of your figures that it's from the fabric of your imagination, but just thought i'd ask. In addition to the 40k on FTA in Sydney, 244k watched on Fox. We don't have the luxury of a state break down to settle this debate, but let's look at some logical facts and questions regarding the 244k that watched on Fox.

1) NSW has a Fox penetration rate of about 40%; the highest in the country.
2) Would people in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane be massively interested in a Saturday evening game between 1st and last? You like to argue that no one in Sydney cares about the Swans or Giants, but I can assure you that no one outside of NSW gives a sh*t about the derby.
3) for the Derby to have had higher ratings in Sydney than the Storm in Melbourne, just 12% of the Fox ratings had to have come from sydney. It seems likely that a game between two Sydney clubs would attract more than 12% of the national ratings for that game.

I don't think you'll be able to answer any of the above with a straight face, I just wanted to lay out the reasons why I believe the Swans outrated the Storm.

I'll now leave you to insert 'but but but', emoticons and something about your life's obsession; penises.

He made up the 13k figure. The fact that the Sydney Derby was the most watched AFL match on Saturday speaks for itself really, there was a big audience watching in Sydney. With no Victorian team competing obviously Victorian ratings would have been down, but two Sydney teams playing means Sydney's tv audience more than made up for the drop in Melbourne viewers. Well done Sydney, well done! =D>

.
simple & fair deduction
you gauge the general interest in a market across the board

which in Sydney was astoundingly low , proof the actual attendance & fta figures :-k
& base the pay tv figure on the fta one ...... 100% , or close enough to it of people have access to FTA tv
in Sydney .. 33% have access to pay tv ( the highest in Australia ..although I think Canberra is right up there too )
a 40K fta audience equals a 13K or so pay audience
a third of the fta one

if you want to go the % of the total audience garbage
then we get sydney's normal FTA audience for the swines ..50K .. being about 6 or 7% of the total metro audience of 600 or 700K
the pay % for sydney ..13K odd out of 244K ... is EXACTLY the same
EXACTLY
got it

So from where I sit no one knows the actual total tv audience fit the swans v giants game for Sydney. We know free to air and that's it. The rest is just speculation either for or against higher or lower numbers!!

Hey Raiderdave can you tell me if the NRL is soooooo hugh with people watching it on the box, why are so many of its clubs giung broke, why dies the Swans have bigger membership (whether in melb or syd they still have to reach into their poket and pull out cash, why do they have the most sponsorship in Sydney and the biggest match day attendances? Why do you never talk about falling junior participation rates? No you bang on about one statistic as proof that ur right, a statistic which is easily manipulated and far from acurate http://www.zerotackle.com.au/images/joe ... al-dog.php, with discrepancies of up to 10 % considering we rely on 3000 homes in Sydney to tell us who they are watching in a city of 4,627,300 people it seems that you rely pretty heavily on this for proof of your convictions. For mine, bums on seats and the level of sponsorship is a better indication. Anyone willing to put their hands in their pockets as opposed to watching it for free it not likely help you when things are tough. But you won't even consider this argument because it will start a wave of doubt in your convictions, and like most in denial of the obvious could cause you too lose that last thread of faith that you belong somewhere in society. Sorry to do this too you Raiderdave but you make up so many lies about AFL because if you had too look in the mirror and tell yourself some home truths you'd see a pretty insignifigant person who follows an irrelevant sport to most Australians, staring back at you. Raiderdave you are a complete muppet.
