2) Viewers =/= supporters. By your line of reasoning My Kitchen Rules is the most popular sport in the country right now.
3) You still haven't said whether you think the Swans will get a higher first home game crowd than the Storm did.

Rain won't keep the majority away as it would for an nRL game. The rain won't prevent the Swans
.
Source for 13k? I mean, I assume like all of your figures that it's from the fabric of your imagination, but just thought i'd ask. In addition to the 40k on FTA in Sydney, 244k watched on Fox. We don't have the luxury of a state break down to settle this debate, but let's look at some logical facts and questions regarding the 244k that watched on Fox.Raiderdave wrote:1) foxtel had about 13K veiwers in Sydney for the VFL premiersDrac wrote:1) Ignoring simulcast Fox ratings again I see.Raiderdave wrote:hmmmm

He made up the 13k figure. The fact that the Sydney Derby was the most watched AFL match on Saturday speaks for itself really, there was a big audience watching in Sydney. With no Victorian team competing obviously Victorian ratings would have been down, but two Sydney teams playing means Sydney's tv audience more than made up for the drop in Melbourne viewers. Well done Sydney, well done! =D>Drac wrote:Source for 13k? I mean, I assume like all of your figures that it's from the fabric of your imagination, but just thought i'd ask. 1) NSW has a Fox penetration rate of about 40%; the highest in the country.
2) Would people in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane be massively interested in a Saturday evening game between 1st and last? You like to argue that no one in Sydney cares about the Swans or Giants, but I can assure you that no one outside of NSW gives a sh*t about the derby.
3) for the Derby to have had higher ratings in Sydney than the Storm in Melbourne, just 12% of the Fox ratings had to have come from sydney. It seems likely that a game between two Sydney clubs would attract more than 12% of the national ratings for that game.
I don't think you'll be able to answer any of the above with a straight face, I just wanted to lay out the reasons why I believe the Swans outrated the Storm.
I'll now leave you to insert 'but but but', emoticons and something about your life's obsession; penises.
