Surprise, surprise, another throwball fan caught out lying and talking crowds in a membership thread. What is it with this lot?

If it's in decline, then why are the Swans going to break their membership record despite more competition in the Giants? The only reason Swans crowds were down last year is because of the SCG redevelopment. Enjoy that while it lasts Raiderdave, because in 2014 once it's complete the only way is up for their crowds.

http://www.lions.com.au/news/2013-04-02 ... 00-members
The Brisbane Lions will enter their first home game of the season against Adelaide on Saturday with more than 20,000 members behind them.

The current membership tally of 20,078 has surpassed last year’s total of 20,072. Lions fans can purchase memberships right up until the end of July.

“Our members play a vital role within our football club,” said Lions Senior Coach Michael Voss.

“And we’re doing everything we can to repay their faith by improving both as a team and a club.

“We want to make playing at the Gabba a daunting task for any opposition team and the support of our members – not to mention their voices – is critical in achieving this.”

Renewals of Queensland seasonal membership have increased significantly from 2012, while the popular three-game memberships are entering their peak growth period.

Meanwhile, Victorian memberships have seen a 5% increase this year off the back of two successful NAB Cup games in Melbourne and the Victorian Family Fun Day.

With the Lions preparing for their battle against last year’s Preliminary finalists, Adelaide, Voss said: “We want as many bums on seats as we possibly can for our first home game at the Gabba this year.
“Queenslanders love their sport and, for me, there’s no better experience than watching a live AFL game at the Gabba.”
our current total is 20,078

we just gained over 1000 members over night :)

we have just passed last years total!! wOOHOOOO

For starters those are pure guesses unless you actually find some stats to back it up.

Secondly, even if that is true, the numbers of members for all 3 clubs are still growing showing the teams are increasing in popularity, and a proportion is in qld and nsw. =D>

Burns doesn't it...
