Poor ratings for AFL in my opinion
682k metro + 252 for fox

52k Perth for live 5.30 or is it 4.30pm footy. Its on mate and is just a bit to early for the Perth audience

Ok ratings for the NRL probably just break 1 million national. The 5 city metro rating was 627k

Yeah, same game last year was up by about the difference in Perths ratings. All other cities were the same.

(7) 552 (7 mate) 130 - (7mate/gem would include regionals), so regionals would be about 180 . giving you about 860 without PTV numbers.

Your two most popular clubs, opening round   :D

So Richmond and Carlton are the AFLs most popular teams?

Hmm, you may want to tell that to Essendon, Collinwood and Hawthorn who have more members and average bigger crowds.

So you give us 1.1m? Cool, thats enough to win =D> cool given Perths ratings are far less on 7 mate.

Also, please explain how 7mate would include regionals given its a 5city count? :-k

Sorry, if you want to be so pedantic - two of the most popular.

That was a best case scenario. Actually I think it will be closer to 1.05m.

VERY best case scenario Perth would get 100k. Putting you well shy of our opening round match of just over 1.4m . That was with the Qld match being shown on delay and ratings from NZ not included.

7 goes to just metro viewers. 7 mate goes to both.

it goes without saying ~ =D> =D> =D>

The first game got 1.2m which included Seven 566k (Mel 389k Ade 177k) 7mate 155k (Syd 24k Bri 40k Per 92k), 230k regionals and 249k foxtel

This game got 552k (Mel 443k Ade 109k) 7mate 130k (Syd 32k Bri 44k Per 54k) + FoxFooty 252k. So thats only a reduction of 39k, which is less than the drop in Perths ratings which was due to the game being shown at 4.30pm on a work day

So for 39k less without regionals you think the total audience dropped by 150k with regionals....right....

Clearly if the first game rated 1.2m nationally this game rated about 1.15m because it was only down by 39k due to Perth ratings.

Further, ratings for the NRLs second round Thursday night game were 628k ch9 and 61k gem, or 689k 5 city.

The regionals were only 432k http://www.regionaltam.com.au/php/logPd ... umCons.pdf

That's a total of 1.13m.

This latest game was only 602k (Syd 422k Bri 180k) GEM 25k (Mel 19k Ade 1k Per 6k) for a total of 627k, so even with regionals of 430k it only manages 1.05m, well below the AFLs 1.15m.

566k (Metro) + 189K (no bs figures for regionals) + 155(7mate) + 249(Fox) = 1159.

Mediaweek posted this last saturday afternoon:
Fri TV updated TV ratings Seven/7mate metro + regional #aflcrowsbombers 951k

Add foxfooty and thats 1.2m

So thats 230k regionals

Interestingly, 2nd round FN NRL rated 670k for 5 city but the regionals didnt even make regional tams top 20, so it was less than 430k

http://www.regionaltam.com.au/php/logPd ... umCons.pdf

Looks like your 2/3rd rule is over estimating regional ratings pussycat, and your 1/3rd is underestimating the AFLs regional ratings
