NRL and Tom a match made in Heaven?
http://www.canberratimes.com.au/sport/f ... 2goci.html
interesting read. My own experience of watching RL this season has been limited to flicking it over at 10pm (AFL half time) on friday night. I just missed the end of the RL game to be greated by the image of Tom Walterhouse for what must have been 5 minutes of betting sponsered advertisement. How have you guys gone this season with the flood of betting advertisement comming in the form of Tom "the house always wins" Waterhouse?

So everyone's happy with the Friday night Tom Waterhouse show with some footy thrown in for good measure? Or does silence mean that you hate the grubby bottom feeding bastard?

These are very flimsy threads Pies, is not really worth a reply.piesman2011 wrote:So everyone's happy with the Friday night Tom Waterhouse show with some footy thrown in for good measure? Or does silence mean that you hate the grubby bottom feeding bastard?
62m Dollars says Tom knows were his bread is buttered..... =D> =D>
This would explain Toms 62 million plunge into the NRL coffers. The figures showed AFL supporters, too, gambled more than the general population, but much less so than NRL supporters.

I think like many other NRL supporters that they have taken the Tom Waterhouse show a little to far.
How does that skinning little rodent get to sit **** the likes of Peter Sterling, Wally Lewis, Andrew Johns etc. Whats worse is the race talk crap after the game...

I think that gambling advertisement is at least as bad as big tobacco and should recieve similar treatment and be banned from all TVs. This goes for poker machines at club level as well for all sports. In fact I would love to get rid of poker machines from this country.Raiderdave wrote:he chose the most popular sport in this nation to grow his business

If your happy to have Tom flogging his wares to kids and adults alike on prime time TV because it makes your sport a bit more money (or is it C9 that makes the money?) then thats fine, but I think it shows poor morals. The guy has nothing to do with rugby league in my opinion, so get him the hell out of there.

How can people like RD let their kids watch the RL while Tom is on. This is a disgrace.

This could turn out to be one of the bigger stories of the year and all you hear from the RL fans is crickets. I understand that C9 now own the NRL and can whore it out to who ever they like but this is beyond the joke. This is your kids who have to watch that turd in action. Get him off for the betterment of the sport.

I personally think its all a bit off putting this whole overblown focus on gambling. Weird and off putting.

Re: NRL and Tom a match made in Heaven?
More BS from our RL friends. Clearly no deal has even been signed.eelofwest wrote:62m Dollars says Tom knows were his bread is buttered..... =D> =D>piesman2011 wrote:So everyone's happy with the Friday night Tom Waterhouse show with some footy thrown in for good measure? $62 million eh eelofwest?

Tom is making a killing without giving you lot a cent yet. Now that's hilarious.
Mr Mattiske said Mr Waterhouse's rugby league deal was nowhere near the $50 million that had been reported.
The game's governing body said it had yet to reach an agreement with Waterhouse, though talks were continuing.
"I am suggesting the numbers floating around the market are exaggerated," Mr Mattiske said.
