its just you. 326k is astronomically low for live NRL in Sydney! Especially for the GF replay.
Yeah and just like last years GF, the Bulldogs do not rate so well in sydney.

not bad for melbourne.
So you add the Gem numbers and we are over 600k for metro again, good numbers so far this year.
Almost 598 total.

Fox Sports ratings increased by 17 per cent on NRL last year and Channel Nine is up 14 per cent this season.

Whats funny is Rothfield is basing his crowds are down figure on 1 game but if you look at the average for season so far we are well above 16.8k ave from last year.
Well no, the crowd figures for the first 2 rounds are the second worst in a decade.

Ratings are up but the NRL have had no delayed games on fn, theyve been live on Thursday night. Of course that would result in an increase. But given this the increase has been small which is clear given last nights horrible figures.

Yeah nice try, and how do you explain the 17% increase on Fox?????

Another logical explanation for monkeys from our own admin monkey Xman.............

And just on that ratings thing, your saying that the NRL for the first 5 rounds has 2 live games to 4 live games from the AFL and this explains the rise in ratings......... and RL still hands you a ass wooping.......oh my.... thanks for pointing this out for us, no more questions your honor.......

Ah hello, Sunday night?

How many extra games are the NRL playing in prime time now? Theyve barely played a day game so far

Still well and truly smashed the NRL last night. AFL was 721 FTA plus 247 foxfooty, which is a total of 968k.

However the AFLs result is for 7mate in Perth, no ch7 this would have taken 100k away.

AFL close to 1million 5 city metro+ PTV 566+ 155+ 247 fox = 968k easy win for AFL. Ps Perth was on mate they will get use to that soon.

Yes with this small trick of simulcast you guys still behind, add your small regional s and you still be behind or just even....

Admit it Pies that is bad ratings for a opener....NRL Fiday night game just pulled in another million on FTA and the AFL fell short of the million on FTA and had only 247k on Fox....

NRL up 17% on Fox and 14% on FTA already in 2013.......no more tricks for the AFL to pull in 2013.......

The NRL is up overall, not every game. That's mainly due to scheduling more matches in prime time.

The AFL opener is similar to last year but down in Perth due to the game being shown on 7mate live at 6pm.

It will be interesting to see if this stays the same because thats nearly 100k less than the same night on ch7. This is to be expected on a secondary digital channel.

Agree it wasnt a huge rating game, but there were factors that caused this. It wasn't really the big game of the round. That will be next Thursday i believe Carlton v Richmond. It was an 8.30 start and on mate in Perth. This cost it about 150 -200k ratings. Perth will adjust and most games will start at 7.30 you can't really judge a whole season off one game.

Yeah the game finished at 11.15 in Melbourne.

The change to 7.30 Last year was a massive reason for increased ratings. This will happen from next Thursday onwards.

Rnd 1 2012:GWS v Sydney - Fox 251k, Syd 82k, Melb 361k, Bris 33k, Adel 116k, Per 97k = 940k.

So this years opening round rated more despite being played an hour later and shown on a secondary digital channel into Perth

The networks do it moron! unless you think the AFL control oztam and other programs.

Foxfootys telecast began at 7.30 and went to midnight. As if youd average a 2 and a half hour game in a 4 and a half hour telecast
