Dear lordy.

If the NRL has as much a lopsided comp as the AFL then why no media about it? Not a skerrick that I've seen.

And herein lies the answer to the valididty of pies "lets say times them by 5" theory

Pies if you have come up with a sum to make the NRL scores similar to an AFL score then bravo. But you know what? It tells us jack diddly because the bloke who came up with the theory knows jack diddly about RL.

End of story. The NRL comp is not lopsided. Now lets get back to options for the AFL comp, which has been clearly and justly identified as the most lopsided comp in the history of the AFL...and perhaps all professional sporting comps in Australian history, this has yet to be disproved.

Pies, what's your option? Hows about "lets say divide the AFL comp by five and delete the resultant number of teams from the comp?" i.e 3.6 teams? I guess Melbourne could and should be banned for a coupla years due to their disgracing of the game so they could be the 0.6. And then you could wipe port adelaide, and two others? :)

Me right. You? Oh so wrong.

This season will force you to chew and consequently vomit your own words up Xman. Your nicname is not fooling any of us, you're no superhero!

Lets see the suns and gws become amazingly competitive teams. Why pies has already predicted the suns'll be in the 8 next year. I wonder how he'll feel at the end of season 2013

You've been a bit more conservative Xman. But alas, you too will look the fool if this season is like last.
I also expected last season would see some struggling teams! Wow, im a genius too

But, thats the price of expansion. I know it, every AFL fan knows it. Weve done it before you know, a number of times

and how does it end up? Look at the lions, swans, power, crows, eagles, dockers. All quality clubs with excellent followings well above all NRL teams bar maybe Brisbane Broncos.

I predict the suns and giants will win 3-5 games each this year, Next year will be 5-10, the year after middle of the pack,, the year after finals. A small price to pay for a more vibrant national competition. =D>

what price of expansion

the Wanderers lead the A League in their first year
the Storm were a top 4 side in their first year & have been pretty much ever since
the Titans highly competitive in year 1

exactly what price are we talking about ?

no

more like the VFL has too many ********* as players
& simply doesn't have enough quality to field 18 sides ....., the NRL already worked out it didn't either & rather then fuck its comp up completely , like the VFL has
decided to wait til it does

Being very good in year one isn't always a god thing. Look at how bad the Titans are going these days with $30m debt last year and ailing crowds, the same would be happening for the Storm right now if they weren't owned by News and weren't in the middle of great form and performances on field. Wanderers crowds probably won't get much better than they are now, and once they start losing games and missing out on the finals just watch the fans disappear.

The Giants and Suns however can look forward to increased crowds and memberships once they both make the finals in a few years time.

Sorry Dave I gotta pull you up on this one for being inaccurate brother. What we have is

THE AFL has conceded it underestimated the pain of introducing two new clubs to the competition as it grapples with the most lopsided season in history.

As clubs fall off the pace in the run to the finals, the average losing margin has spiralled to 42.2 points - the largest since league football started in 1897.

http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/AFL/af ... 6438953739

The player base has just been spread too thin and the result? The most lopsided in the history of the AFL, since 1897. Yes a tsunami has hit,of epic proportions. But not in Western Sydney, no they only felt the ripples. The tsunami has smashed the southern states marngrook teams with melbourne, port adelaide and the western bulldogs copping the brunt while the wealthier clubs have scampered to high ground

You know its true when KE says it.

Wow 36 to 0 and 32 to 0 imagine going to a game and seeing your team not even scoring. Does that happen a lot in your comp? I can understand it happening in soccer but its happened 2 times in 15 games so far in the NRL this season.

Only one problem with that way of thinking Pies.... :-k

There is only 2 teams which are undefeated after round 2 in the NRL, how many teams will still be undefeated in round 2 of the AFL?????????????????......... =D> =D>

My Guess there will be 5-7 undefeated teams by round 4 of the AFL season, what you think King?

NRL the most unpredictable comp in the world..... =D> =D>

Well dogs I agree that at the moment the AFL comp is more lopsided

I agree the NRL scorelines are just as lopsided if not more so. The comp isnt though because low scoring equals more lucky wins.

This is ALL TIME! I gotta get this one up on my signature quick stix!!!

No way, you're joking right?

Ahhh Xman? "Competition" is a word deriving from "compete". If you got teams who simply cannot compete on an even playing, simply arent the same standard, then what you've got is a shite competition.

woeful .... as bad as they possibly could after 2 rounds.
and that is surprising & shows just how unpredictable the NRL is

but I know my side is still a chance of making the finals as they simply have too talented a roster to be discounted after 2 poor rounds
Starting with the Raiders taking out all the frustration of the last few weeks on the poor ol Dragons this Sunday

there'd be fans of 6 VFL sides at least including your side
who if they were being honest & realistic
know their sides will not make any impact on this years comp ... they'd be lucky to score a win against any side 7 & up

how sad
how pathetic
how ..... lopsided
