It's true dikkwad  Izzy and Khunt have been and continue to be ambassadors to your game. How's that feel? After all you've said about NRL players, you gotta understand that NRL players are ambassadors of your code :_<>

Ohhhhhh the irony!
How? They showed ARs is pretty difficult and requires elite endurance, which NRL players don't have.

Izzy did his work in the year of his signing by becoming a headline. Then for icing on the cake he snubbed the NRL

Hunt continues to market the game in qld =D>

Not overall. I agree that they are a good choice when marketing a new team in an expansion state.

Really KE. Get with the program

Yeah AD discussed this on SEN this morning. He was asked a hypothetical question along the lines of "if GWS managed to sign a star like Buddy Franklin would the AFL be prepared to use the player as an embassador in NSW".

AD answered "sure, the Giants could apply for such an arrangment after they secured the player"

Next minute its on the back page of the papers suggesting the AFL are planning to assist the Giants to recruit Buddy!

And the NRL fans here think they get a worse deal from their media! #-o

Just going with the facts here Xman. NRL players, in your view, have been fine upstanding and great ambassadors for the code of marngrook. This is fantastic Xman and something which is I'll be reminding you of consistently in light of your ongoing denigration of NRL players. You ok with that?

KE, look, if you want to relate to the locals (ie WS) you need a representative from the local interests. If the locals are uneducated thugs you employ an uneducated thug to relate to them. In the process you may turn the thug into a reasonable human being and hopefully a few of the locals will see the light and follow.

The multicultural ambasador role (is that what you are referring to KE?) has been given to high profile players who usually have a connection with a certain group of people or a place. Sure they had to have a clean image to go with that. So in the statistically insignificant sample of the 2 NRL players that the AFL has stolen from the NRL and given this role to I would say they have been good role models so far. Theres no way that the AFL would have touched anyone with a criminal record or problems with past indiscretions, we have enough trouble with our players as it is.
What are you trying to say KE, that all NRL players are excellent role models so other codes need to steal them to improve the image of their codes? Thats just strange.

There are many players currently in this role:

•Ahmed Saad
•Bachar Houli
•David Rodan
•Harry O’Brien
•Joel Wilkinson
•Karmichael Hunt
•Leigh Montagna
•Majak Daw
•Nic Naitanui

Pies welcome on board. No I'm not trying to say all NRL players are this way or that. That's something Xman and co have ignorantly chanted since they joined. No I'm simply citing the irony that the AFL has specifically chosen NRL players as ambassadors of their game while Xman and co would have you believe NRL players are, and I quote, "uneducated thugs".

i'm sure you'd appreciate the irony here wouldnt you pies?

Thankfully there are thousands of people living in WS who do not follow RL, and therefore have a full set of teeth and are educated past yr8. These people will be more open to ARs than the baked on thug RL supporters. They needed someone they could reconise to look past their thuggish interestes.

Have to agree with you on this one KE. NRL players are unfairly stereotyped on this site by most AFL fans. In the end they are no different from any other young pro athletes with to much free time and money. If anything the AFL has more issues simply because it has more players.
You are right to get suck into the AFL supporters for any hypocrisy. By supporting former NRL players. Some are just trolling but I think Stewie is a true believer.

No there is a little bit of merit to this argument. The AFL has a high proportion of it's ranks educated in private schools.Trinity in Perth currently has 14 alumni on AFL lists. If I'm not mistaken league is played in very few private schools. Now you can get a good education in the public system but the stats say it's not as good as private. So it's safe to assume there is a higher level of education in the AFL. Now there are definite links between education affluence and violence.Knowing all this we can conclude that thuggery and depleted genetic brain function are more prevalent amongst those in the ranks of league.Exhibit one last years Dally M Exhibit Two Mark Geyer and the list goes on .

Pookus, who's that former AFL player fans and officials refer to as 'God' again?

I mean, what about the irony!

Yes pookus, your 'God' of the AFL is arguably the biggest thug to come out of Australian sport, ever... 'God'

And as for your private school trollop. Ummm if you call a good education getting a silver spoon rammed up your arse so far that you can eat your shite sprinkled breakfast off it. Then yes, ok, those folk are 'well educated'
