My response? I agree with Xman. Why would thousands of people from the ACT buy Swans memberships if they no longer play there? They would all be Giants members, unless, like I said before, they grew up in Sydney supporting the Swans.

That's at least 22K - 4-6K (your Canberra numbers)+10k more - 3K more (just in case there are a few more Canberra/melbourne members) = 23 to 25K NSW only members. So even with your dodgy figures RaiderDave is still very wrong as usual.

You seam a little confused mate, I havent seen any explaination has to why you disagree with me. Perhaps have another read, but in case you didnt read all of the thread here is a summary of what I added to the topic.

RaiderDave said this year (2013) there will be 15-18K Swans members in NSW. You say Raider could be right, but you havent factored in that only about 2/3 of members have been tallyed at this stage (I think I understand AFL membership a little better then you and I estimate that only 2/3 of total members have been listed on the websites at this stage, no insult intended). With the extra numbers, Dave has to be wrong even after factoring in 6K Canberra members (from the original 22K NSW members and 3K non NSW members from the 10K yet to be tallyed, the swans will have minimum 23K NSW only members. Its pretty clear cut in my book. Perhaps a bit more explaination from you could clarify why I have dropped the ball.

Firstly the AFL amalgamates ACT and NSW for tallying local player numbers because the AFL has a branch called AFL NSW/ACT. What this has to do with club membership numbers I have no idea. So the correct ump decision would be that you dropped it on that one. Secondly I never said the the AFL didnt amalgamate certain things in NSW/ACT.

I at least comprehend what you are saying now amigo. But unfortuately the fail is all yours. You backed Raider on this one and failed to understand the difference between club membership and the AFL NSW/ACT subbranch that has nothing to do with club membership.
