SUNS forward Jacob Gillbee has been charged with drink-driving as the club's off-season woes took a turn for the worse last night.

The 20-year-old allegedly blew .137, almost three times over the legal limit, in a random breath test in Broadbeach last night.

The off-field drama comes just weeks after teammate Harley Bennell was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and failing to obey an order given by a police officer in Mandurah, south of Perth on New Year's Eve.

Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft said Gillbee, who notified the club immediately, has co-operated fully with Gold Coast Police.
