Ratings no. We all know that. Crowds and members have all been a part of marngrook culture, partly so strong because the scope of a television camera can, to the lesser enthusiasts and passionate supporters alike, make the sport look like a pack of sea gulls fighting over the last chip at times. I'm sorry but I'll take mick malthouses words and the undeniable stats indicating a mass amount of 'non event/shallacking' matches over your words on this one any day Xman. Just dont tell your shrink ok?

Lost the ratings by millions and got absolutely humiliated in the TV rights deal, yep, Vfl, our nations second biggest footy code as it always was.
2012, the year the Vfl got put back in its regional box.

Parra I am shocked u just said it is our nations second biggest footy code. Wow with the crap u say I thought it would be the countrys 8th biggest football code.
Oh & King didnt u go to the Haw Geel game last year, which was probably the game of the year!? Surely u enjoyed that so why do u bag AFL for?

Bigger TV deal and more people watch it on TV.
And the gap is only going to get bigger now.

Yes the Geelong Hawthorn match was a ripper. Dear Pete I dont bag the sport, which by the way would be better titled Marngrook or some other name which does not have 'Australian' or 'rules' in it (a dumber name i could not think of), I just bag the organisation running it.Pete_09 wrote:Parra I am shocked u just said it is our nations second biggest footy code. Well I & many AFL supporters do agree that the organisation can be little arrogant (Israel Folau signing was a bit silly I thought) sometimes (Israel Folau signing was a bit silly I thought), but that shouldnt take away from the fact that it is the best sport in the world

The AFL is the best run league in Australia and has been for a long time. League under Gallop was a joke, soccer has been pathetic for years, Cricket was run well but is pretty average these days. The AFL however, supremely managed since the 1990's.

Yeah it is pretty well run but I can see why Leaguies think it can be arrogant. Or maybe its just jealousy...

LOL
In the early 90's RL had the VFL running scared, the SL war stopped that, but now it's a new era and RL is going from strength to strength.
You all know it deep down too, and it scares you
